Call for Partners News release REVISED 18th October For immediate release Could your business benefit

from being a TEDx partner?
The organisers of TEDxLaceMarket are looking for local businesses who’d like to partner the event, which is being held at Nottingham Contemporary on Saturday 24 November. Partnering with TEDxLaceMarket means you’ll benefit from promoting your brand to an audience of local consumers as well as networking with high calibre guest speakers and event organisers. TEDxLaceMarket will see 100 local people getting together to enjoy a day of speeches videos, games and activities on the theme of families and how we could live together better. It’s set to be an exciting and challenging day, with guest speakers including the chair of the UK CoHousing Network, recent nottingham wide WEYA festival organiser, the owner and director from family-run business ‘LucyLocket’, social enterprise “Secret Kitchen” innovator and the renowned American author, speaker and entrepreneur, C.C. Chapman. Like all TEDx events, TEDxLaceMarket is non profit-making and the guest speakers – who are visiting Nottingham from all over the world to give a global perspective to the family theme – won’t be paid. However, their travel, accommodation and other expenses will be covered by monies being donated by event partners. And that’s where local businesses come in. Event organiser Marios Perrakis explains: ‘We already have our main sponsors in place (Capital One, Excel Group and IO MartHosting) and now, we’re looking for independent local businesses – especially those based in the Lace Market – to partner with us on a smaller scale. That could be shops, bars, cafes or restaurants. There is a lot of serviced offices in the area we want businesses within them to get involved. It doesn’t have to cost much to be a TEDxLaceMarket partner. From just £50, you can put your promotional items like leaflets, discount vouchers or pens into the audience “goodies bags”.’

But why not contribute a little more and take advantage of becoming a Speaker Champion? You’ll be introduced to your championed speaker at a VIP Evening Reception on Friday 23 November and also join the speakers and organisers for a VIP lunch during the TEDx event itself. The Reception will be hosted by The LaceHouse and our Lace Market Ambassador for the evening, Mark Shaw (LiquidAgency’s President) will welcome the TEDx ‘family’ to the Lace Market – setting the event’s theme in motion. ‘Partnering with TEDxLaceMarket really is a unique opportunity for local businesses,’ says Mark. ‘It’s a perfect time to hold a TEDx event in Nottingham’s Lace Market with the recent news of the area being part of the ‘Creative Quarter’ city investment. By getting involved now, you’re not just donating money to a one-off event. You’ll become part of the global TEDx community and the TEDxLaceMarket ‘family’ plus enjoy long term benefits from its ethos of “Ideas Worth Spreading”.’ TEDxLaceMarket offers a range of partnership opportunities, including three VIP Partnership Packages. Whichever you choose, you can be sure your money will be put into the areas of the event that will most benefit you and your business. Notes to editors
About TED TED is a non profit-making organisation devoted to ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences – the TEDConference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh each summer – TED includes the awardwinning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TEDConversations, the inspiring TEDFellows and TEDx programmes, and the annual TED Prize. Find out more at About TEDx The TEDx programme gives communities, organisations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently. There are specific rules that each TEDx event must follow, such as engaging speakers on a non-payment basis; having a maximum audience of 100 people; and showing videos of previous TEDx talks as part of the agenda. About TEDxLac Market How could we live together better? Is family the most efficient, most sustainable, most loving, and practical way of coexisting? If we were to start over with communities and societies, how would we design the cells that form them better? How do we make living with more than or equal to 2 people happen better? TEDxLaceMarket will examine, discuss and celebrate ideas, stories, propositions, and answers on the topic of togetherness. The agenda will include ten, eighteen minute talks

by high calibre speakers, relevant videos from the TEDx archives, interactive games and activities. The audience will be asked to contribute on the day and leading up to the event. The event is being organised by Marios Perrakis along with co-organisers and local business owners, Caron Lyon and Phil Campbell.
