“My sheep listen to my Voice; ...I know them and follow Me” ...Jesus (John 10: 27) In the Old Covenant, Yahweh commanded the priests to put the tablets of the Covenant Law (Ten Commandments) in the Ark (Exodus 25:16). In the New Covenant, as prophesied by Prophet Jeremiah, God wrote the tablets of Covenant Laws (Ten Commandments) within our hearts so that we would be ever conscious of our sins when convicted by the Holy Spirit (Jeremiah 31:33, 34)
………………………………………………………………………………………………………… The bubbling desire of every "realist" Christian is to experience God‟s realities in their life and those realities are spiritually manifested by our aliveness of fellowship with God. The two-way-'conversation' with Jesus would then prove that our Christianity is alive and not merely the deeds of conformity to the theological understandings of our religions. To become the "ones" who hear the voice of the Good Shepherd is not a challenge but merely the path which we thread on so that we may truly experience the reality of fellowship with God. The main agenda of God in creating "man" according to His image is simply communion . Communion is spiritually understood as mysteriously expressed by the relationship between the husband and the wife in the Sacrament of holy matrimony. Adam and Eve were created in order to fellowship with the Creator as the family of God-sharing everything with Him provided that they obeyed everything to Him. Man was created as spirit creature as according to His image who is, in essence, the Spirit Creator. God is Spirit (John 4:24). Thus, communion with Him means to communicate as husband and wife in the Spirit. The flesh which encompasses the five senses is meant for interactions with the tangible physical surroundings. The spirit as the “true essence” of man is designed for communicating with the spiritual realms which ultimately point to the fellowship with the Creator--who is the Ultimate Spirit. The separation of men from the consciousness of communion with the Creator is rather spiritually understood as due to our fallen condition which we inherited from our first ancestor.
The fallen condition means our separation from the…holy, holy, holy …God. Therefore, the "fallen" condition of men simply means unrighteous or unholy or the descendants of transgressor of God's Laws. Just as, "oil couldn't mix with water", and in the same manner, God who is 'holy, holy, holy", would not be "at peace" with "unholy/unrighteous" men. Thus, communion with Him would not only mean to be consciously in the Spirit but also to be “holy” or remaining to be "at peace" with God-for God is Holy. Yahweh exhorted the Old Covenant people of Israel to be holy for He was holy. Therefore, only the perfect Lamb of God could offer us the "Way" to be expiated from sins, so that the "Emmanuel" presence of the Trinity would be real for the covenant people. The phenomenon of God‟s conversation with the non covenant peoples should have motivated us to think that God is more than willing to communicate with us though we are in the opposite side of His Holiness. We see our relationship with God like “oil couldn‟t mix with water”. Such spiritual paradigm oftentimes impedes us from pursuing the truth of spiritual aliveness with God the Almighty. We abandon our desire to experience the reality of God‟s communion and we settle down in the zone of knowing the written Logos alone but letting those „holy‟ peoples, who claim real conversation with God, to be the 'ones' who enjoy “the sheep that hear their Shepherd” as special group. Then we reason among ourselves that to experience the real communion would be quite unattractive because it demands us not to be in the moulds of this world. The idealism of it may even thrust us into stoically monkish lifestyles. The idealism of fellowship with God like “oil mixes with oil” or “water mixes with water” would demand sacrifice which deprives us the sense of being humans in the eyes of the secular worlds. To be branded as deviants or as God‟s fools is something which may lead the aspiring disciples into fewer „joys‟ in this world. Therefore, the idealism of “my sheep listen to my Voice; I know them and follow Me” would oftentimes be misunderstood as only worthy for those who are "called" by the „holy orders‟ of God to pursuit the vocation of religious life such as those “clergymen” or “nuns”. We sum up that only those who are "called" would be willing to be deprived of earthly and secular vocations. Whereas most of the lay Christians may linger in the zone of mediocrity like those ancient Covenant People of Yahweh who did not dare to cross over the set limit on Mountain Sinai foot in order to personally “experience” the "meeting" with Yahweh. They decided to be content of whatever God spoke through Prophet Moses and then they promised to obey them all. They feared to enter deeper relationships with the consuming fire. After all, they were still called the “Covenant peoples" though they didn‟t converse vis-à-vis with Yahweh like Prophet Moses. So, during the theocratic period of Israel, the realities of communion with Yahweh had been somehow only „monopolized‟ by the Judges and the Prophets. The realities of tabernacle communion with Yahweh were solely experienced by the Chief High Priest
Page 2 of 14
who communed with Yahweh once a year in the innest Temple on the Day of Atonement. The cases of the Divine conversation with non-covenant peoples
This case is often misunderstood by the normally accepted precept which defines „oil wouldn‟t mix with water'. However, it is not true that only those who are 'holy' Covenant people who had experienced the 'conversation' with God. There were many instances in the Scripture which tells us that even those "non covenant" people had experienced the "conversation" with the Almighty. Why the non Covenant peoples were able to withstand Divine holiness when the consuming fire of God the Most Holy Creator communicated with them? This was what happened to Abimelech the King of Gerar. Abimelech did converse with God in the dream of the night and he survived (Genesis 20: 3-7). However, we understood that God merely intended to warn Abimelech of the coming consequences. If he didn‟t heed His warning then Abimelech would be a dead man. God intentionally communicated with king Abimelech though he was apparently not “at peace” with God because he was obviously having „transactions‟ with Prophet Abraham, the covenanted person, and God‟s encounters with Abimelech were seen as the means of providence and protection for Abraham. It was interesting to note that God did not mind to continuously provide protection for Abraham even though he, obviously, spoke a lie to Abimelech by claiming his wife, Sarai, as his sister. In the Old Testament, God purposely intervened with the lives of those non covenant Peoples of Yahweh in order to accomplish certain missions for the sake of His Covenant People. Therefore, the cases of God communicating with the non believers are simply because of His wills to accomplish „the highest good things‟ for His elected peoples. Today, God is still communicating with both the non body of Christ and the body of Christ alike not only to provide “highest good things” for all whom He had called but also that they might conform into the likeness of His Son. St. Paul urged Timothy to pray for the rulers for they were instruments in the Hands of God. And He is intangibly working in all things altogether to bring forth good things to those who have been called according to His purposes.
One of the most common ways of God‟s communication with men is through dream. When God‟s reality in communication seems as if none of man‟s words then it is
Page 3 of 14
quite consoling to hear Elihu‟s words in Job 33: 15-18, …15” In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, 16 he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn man from wrong doing and keep him from pride, 18 to preserve his soul from the pit, his from perishing by the sword.‖ Dreams are universally accepted by all cultures in communicating with the spirits‟ realms. It is nearer to the consciousness of our spirits. Some of the recorded examples in the Old Covenant and New Testament concerning God‟s communication via dreams with non covenant peoples are as below:…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
1. ''God came to Laban, the Syrian, by night, in a dream, and said unto him, take heed that thou speak not to Jacob, either good or bad.'' Genesis 31: 24 2. "And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they (the Magi) departed into their own country another way.'' Matthew 2: 12 3. "And the King (Nebuchadnezzar) said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.'' Daniel 2: 3
4. God obviously did communicate to Pilate's wife, through the influence of
a dream, and advised her husband to have nothing to do with the conviction of Christ. ―Don‘t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of Him.‖ Matthew 27: 19
………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Thus, we could see that God communicates to the non believers simply because of His desires to fulfill His missions for His covenant peoples. However, most of His own covenant peoples have scanty understanding about the communication between God and His covenant peoples. It is normal for God to impart revelations to the covenant people who have divine knowledge (the written Logos). Without the knowledge of the written Logos, then it would be hard for God in imparting understandings and revelations unto His covenant peoples. The Divine Holy Spirit convicts us of our transgressions based on the written Laws on our hearts and this conviction takes place in our conscience. Purified conscience serves well as the sanctified barometer for wrong and right deeds but unpurified conscience is subjected to our carnal reasoning. In the same way, God imparts or impresses His guidance based on the written Logos. His voice or guidance would not divert from the known written Logos. His voice would normally be consistent with the written Logos.

Communion with God in Eden and the communion with God on earth In the beginning, God enjoyed fellowship with spiritual Adam who was dependant on God and then when Adam chose to be like god or to be an independent person, the realities of “Eden” or Holy Communion immediately ceased. So, Eden is the reality of Holy Communion. The tree of knowledge is the path of independency with Lucifer as her mentor whereas the tree of life is a life with total sacred dependency on God. A rebel of God or transgressor of God‟s laws has no place in the sacred communion of God and thus Adam was expelled or “cut off” from spiritual fellowship with Holy God. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 but the Lord God called to the man, ―Where are you?‖ (The Fall of 1st man - Genesis 3)
………………………………………………………………………………………………………… The phrase, “Where are you?‖…was an anecdote of spiritual shift that took place in Adam's life from a spiritually conscious man and then spiritually cut off - - into a reduced five-senses-oriented-man (or spiritually cut off) otherwise the Omniscient and Omnipresent God wouldn‟t be intentionally making noises in the garden and He wouldn‟t be calling Adam with an audible voice. Adam's spiritual ears already turned deaf. His transgression deprived him of the spiritual consciousness in regard to the omnipresence of God. Adam was, indeed, spiritually cut off from the Communion with God even before he (Adam) was driven out from the garden. God did not tolerate the transgression though in our eyes it seems to be a trivial sin but He is, indeed, undeniably the Most Holy God. Any sin regardless of its severity is the enemy of His Holiness. Sin is not in His nature and thus it repels against His Holiness. God is unable to be in the "communion" with sinners. Thus, mankind began his independent lives or the adversarial relationship with God on earth. However, God didn‟t leave men to be hopeless or absence of the way to commune back with Him. The sacred communion in Eden had ceased and the accessibility in entering Eden was closed as well. Adam was prohibited in entering Eden. The "gate" was also guarded by an angel of God. So, the sacred communion with God in Eden was over.
However, God began to open up the new "Way" of Communion on earth through the divine ordained rite. Since the time of Adam, God had ordained “burnt offering‟ as the ancient divine rite in order for the Covenant people (chosen people) to be “at peace” with God and thus bestowing them with divine favor (Genesis 4). Communion with God was then made possible on earth through the rite of expiation So the rite of expiation was, in fact, the “way” to be “at peace” with God. The rite of vicarious expiation ran through the reckoned lineage. “Burnt offering” had been handed down to Noah, the survivor of Deluge, and then to the chosen lineage of Abraham, Isaac and then Jacob, who eventually evolved into twelve tribes of Israel, or the Old Covenant people of Yahweh. It was probably that Noah survived the first apocalypse simply because he (Noah) was the sole person on earth who obediently observed the revealed Divine rite as to be "at peace" with God—the burnt offering. While the rest of the ancient populace contemporary of Noah had had plunged themselves into the infernal forbidden rites. And, of course, together with his family Noah was saved from God's first apocalypse (deluge) because in ancient times, the father would automatically serve to be the priest on behalf of his family. And that was the reason why his household was saved though Noah alone was credited to be blameless and upright. Noah with his household then seen by God as the only "righteous" and blameless peoples in His eyes. Thus, the phrase, "...and Noah found favor in the eyes of God" does not suggest that Noah was sinless but he was rather endowed with divine favor due to Noah's faithfulness in observing the rite of expiation - - the only known 'way' written in the book Genesis which had led him to be at peace with the Spirit of Yahweh. It was impossible to be reconciled with the Most Holy God except by following His Way. King Solomon said that „many men are in search for many schemes‟ but God‟s ordained “Way” is the only accepted path to be reconciled with the Triune God. The Scripture tells us that the patriarchs observed the rites of expiation as to invoke God‟s favor and by His presence for communion; they would occasionally receive divine blessings. In the prologue of Job, we notice that Job‟s regular custom was sacrificing burnt offering in order to safeguard his family from the curses or God‟s wraths. And by this act of worships and atonement of sins through “burnt offering", he was considered blameless and upright in the sight of God (Job 1: 1-5). Burnt offering a.k.a. rite of expiation was indeed the way of purifying from sins and worshipping God. After the period of feasting ended, then early in the morning Job would sacrifice a “burnt offering” for each of his children, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts”(Job 1:5). Obviously, Job acted as the priest for his family just as Noah. This was how the ancient “burnt offering” was observed where the father would automatically become the priest for the family.
After 400 years of slavery in Egypt, God began to reintroduce the forgotten ancient divine rites “burnt offering” through prophet Moses for the chosen race right on the 14th day of the month of Aviv (March/April). On the day of “burnt offering”; every head of family, like the patriarchs, would act as the priest of his own family by taking a lamb sacrifice for one household which they must slaughter at twilight. Some blood to be put on doorframes, part of the roasted meat to be eaten and but without leaving any of it till morning which meant to burn all the left over (Exodus 12:1-10). In fact, by obeying Yahweh‟s command in observing the “burnt offering‟ in Egypt, they were “at peace” with the Spirit of Yahweh and thus God passed them over from the plagues. God was about to outpour His Judgment upon Egypt and therefore such “burnt offering” which they observed on the 14th of Aviv was no longer the same as the burnt offering which was observed by the Patriarchs but it was called the Lord’s Pass Over (Exodus 12:11). God passed over the chosen race from any plague in Egypt because they had been marked with blood as to be “at peace” with God. The angel of destroyer noticed their “mark” by the blood of the lamb and thus passed them over. They were no longer the enemies of God but they became the covenanted people of God. They were married to Yahweh. Later in the Promised Land the Day of Atonement had been observed, as national redemption, a day to be wholly atoned as a theocratic nation and to receive blessings from the communion with the descending Yahweh. Previously, during the patriarchs‟ times, the atonement of sins and acts of worship through “burnt offering “was not clearly systematized. However, those burnt offerings shared similar ritualistic purpose i.e. the “rite” of vicarious expiation. The patriarchs observed the sacred rite as commanded by God in due course. And we notice that there were obvious variations of “burnt offerings” as in the case of Abel; he brought a lamb (Genesis 4); …taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed “burnt offering‟ as in the case of Noah (Genesis 8: 20-21); …an heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old along a dove and a young pigeon as in the case of Abraham (Genesis 15: 9-12); …seven bulls and seven rams …and sacrifice a burnt offering as in the case of Job‟s friends (Job 42: 7-10). In pre Mosaic era, we do not have clear Scriptural stipulations as to see any established systematized “offerings” but the Scripture was clear in telling us the primary purpose of those offerings was the vicarious expiation of the chosen peoples. Before the ceremonial Laws of Moses, the father of a household would act as the priest for the family. After the Israelites received the complete Laws through Moses for establishing a theocratic nation—kingdom of priests and a holy nation—then, the Laws of “burnt offerings” had been systematically stipulated in the Laws according to their purposes and only be done by the ordained priests from the order of the Levitical Priesthood. However, the Lord‟s (paschal) was, in fact, the observed ancient rite of expiation through “burnt offerings” , handed down from Abel to Noah and then to
Page 7 of 14
Prophet Moses. It is the “paschal” whose origin from the ancient burnt offering as the “Way‟ to be „at peace‟ with God which eventually perfected in Jesus as the Pass Over Lamb sacrifice since He was predestined to be the “Lamb of God” who takes away the sins of the world not according to the divine ordained rites but according to the fulfillment of All Laws, the Prophets' prophecies and the Psalms Luke 24:44. The Covenant People made “at peace” with God When we trace back the Scriptural origin of paschal, we found out the idea of vicarious expiation through observance of the ancient rite of burnt offerings as in Genesis 4: 4 that …Abel brought fat portions from some of firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel's offering (favor n. an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual or “grace”). Throughout the age, the people of the chosen lineage were able to fellowship with Yahweh through the rite of expiation. It was this “rite of expiation” through burnt offerings that enabled the Old Covenant people to be at peace (reconciled) with God since men had been in adversarial relationship with God since the „fall‟ of Adam (...adversarial relationships or separated). The divine ordained "rite of expiation" was, in fact, served to be the divine legacy which strikingly marked the difference between the covenanted people of God from the rest of the inhabitants of the earth. Through this rite they (the Covenant Peoples) received blessings of God or “at peace” with God. This “rite of expiation” had been prophesied to be perfected in Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, so that All Laws, the Prophecies of the Old Testament Prophets and the Psalms [Luke 24:44] would be fulfilled . Being overburdened as the sole interpreter of the Laws, Moses had once wished as recorded in Numbers 11: 30 saying, “I wish that all the people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them! The Day of Atonement as celebrated once a year was the atonement for the whole communities or 12 tribes of Israel so that they would be accepted into the communion with YHVH -- as a holy nation via the mediation of the temple‟s high priest. Obedience in observing the ordinances of the offerings on the Day of Atonement would grant them favor or blessings from Yahweh when He descended on the mercy seat of the Ark. St. John‟s announcing phrases “Look the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”…pinpointed to the prophesied “Lamb‟ in the Old Testament like that prophecy from Isaiah 53. The covenant peoples of God are characterized by three major and interrelated sequential spiritual elements in their walk of faith with the Most Holy God namely:-
Page 8 of 14
Atonement (Pass over) through the Lamb Sacrifice (...Sacrament of Baptism)
2. Sanctification via cleansing by the blood of the Lamb and also by confessions (...Sacrament of Confession). And the Lord said to Moses, ―go to the people and consecrate them …wash their clothes and are ready…. to meet with God‖ (Exodus 19: 14-17). …they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb (Rev. 7:14). 23 He (chief high priest) is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites— all their sins—and put them on the goat‘s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. Leviticus 16: 21 (~the Azazel foreshadowed the Lamb of God). ―If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness‖ 1John 1:9 3. Communion – after being consecrated then they meet the Lord around the tent of meeting or Tabernacle (...also as in the ...Sacrament of Conformation, Sacrament of Communion & Sacrament of Matrimony). The Chief High priest alone conversed with YHVH as the representative of the covenant people. In the New Covenant, believers are "royal priests" for their "own" temples (spirits).
The favor of God or “grace” is manifested in Jesus as the perfect Lamb Sacrifice of God. The atoning death of Jesus on the cross was and is the manifestation of divine propitiation or reconciliation. .. Our ark is not made of Acacia wood but it is just inside our hearts. Jesus said, “whosoever pure in heart shall see the face of God.” The “ark” in the “innest" temple as the "room" to converse with God
―Have them make an ark[b] of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.[c] 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it. 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. 16 Then put in the ark the tablets of the Covenant Law, which I will give you.
―Make an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. 18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. 19 Make one cherub on one end and the second
Page 9 of 14
cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. 21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you. 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the Ark of the Covenant Law, I will meet with you and give you all My commands for the Israelites Exodus 25: 10-22
In the Old Covenant, the Chief High Priest as the representative of the Old Covenant people would meet with Yahweh once a year on the Day of Atonement in front of the throne of God symbolized by the “two Cherubim” over the Ark of Covenant. The Tabernacle of the Old Testament had been perfected in Christ Jesus where the Church as the spiritual building and the New Covenant people become the building blocks of spiritual Tabernacle. The Promised Land is the physical inheritance of the twelve-tribeIsraelites but the Holy Spirit is the promised "Helper" of the New Covenant People. The New Covenant peoples are the heir of the promised unto Abraham--the Holy Spirit. In the Old Covenant, Yahweh commanded the priests to put the tablets of the Covenant Law (Ten Commandments) in the Ark (see…Exodus 25:16). In the New Covenant, as prophesied by Prophet Jeremiah, God wrote the tablets of Covenant Laws (Ten Commandments) within our hearts so that we would be ever conscious of our sins when convicted by the Holy Spirit (See…Jeremiah 31:33, 34). Thus, in the New Testament the “heart” is, in fact, referring to the ark of Covenant. We know then that the Ark of the Covenant of the Old Testament was merely foreshadowing the reality of communion in the New Testament period where the Laws have been written in our „arks‟, the hearts, so that we may able to enjoy the communion in Christ by being the „royal priests‟ who commune with God in our own individual innest temples (spirits). So Moses‟ wish, as the Father of Laws, in Numbers 11: 30 saying, “I wish that all the people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them! …has been fulfilled in the New Covenant. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14: 6). As the perfect Pass over Lamb, Jesus offered unto us the Way to be “at peace” with the Father. The Lamb of God who, once and for all, fully paid the spiritual punishments of sins had offered us the “Way” of righteousness and Truth. Through Him, the Way and the Truth, we are given the chance to relive the realities of communion so that the lost sacred communion in „Eden‟ would once again become a reality with the Triune God on earth. So, Salvation is, in fact, God‟s mission to
Page 10 of 14
bring us back as if to the original blueprint of man .i.e. according to His „image‟ through His propitious salvific work so that "communion" would be 'Emmanuelly' possible.
There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the Ark of the Covenant Law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands (Words) … (Exodus 25: 22).
Yes, ...“there”, within your heart when Jesus (…the "two cherubim" symbolized the enthroning Yahweh or Kingdom of Heaven on earth) enthroned in your heart, the Divine Holy Spirit (Jesus‟ representative or the Spirit of Truth) shall meet with you and give you all the mustard seeds from heaven (the “Word” as witnessed by your spirit or the message from the „Spirit of prayer'; whereas the Logos is the written Word of God). Notice that the Chief High Priest would only be able to commune with Yahweh when the animal lamb sacrifices were accepted. In the New Covenant, we are the “royal priests” for our own "temples" (spirits); already accepted by Jesus even before we were weaved in our mothers‟ wombs. His atoning death was His acceptance of us even before we have come to realize that all these while He already unconditionally loved us. He had accepted us right at the moment He presented Himself as Lamb Sacrifice with Messianic utterance at His dying breaths, “It is finished”. By Jesus' faithfulness in forgiving our sins, we are given the path of righteousness by sanctifying our life through the acts of contrition and confessions via the perfect “Lamb of God” who was predestined to take away the sins of the world. His death on the Cross as the perfect Paschal foreshadowed by the ancient divine ordained rite of burnt offering had had given us the Divine favor or „grace‟. Grace which means to give us opportunity to do God‟s will i.e. mainly for the purification our hearts through the power of the Lamb of God - - Pass Over. In our personal devotion, confession would be appropriately addressed unto the Name called Jesus, the Son of the Most High, who is vested with the power to forgive our sins since He was the Lamb who expiated our sins and then ascended to heaven and seated on the right hand of the Father as our Mediator. The Holy Spirit is the co-partner of the Triune God for communion/dialogue with God. While the Father is the eternal head figure of the Triune God and though He is intangibly Omnipresent, and yet perfectly revealed by His only begotten Son—the perfect Image of the Father. The Pass Over by Jesus was and is the manifestation of divine unconditional love. Our “ark” is not made of Acacia wood as foreshadowed by the ark in Exodus 25: 10-25. It is just inside our hearts. Prophet Jeremiah prophesied that the Lord said, “I will put my Law in their minds and write it on their hearts, I will be their God, and they will be my people" Jeremiah 31:33. And as Prophet Joel prophesied, “…the Spirit of God would be poured out upon all flesh” Acts 2: ;Joel 2: 28. The New Covenant people are the heirs of the promised Holy Spirit who would descend on our “arks” and "there" He will meet
Page 11 of 14
with you and give you the “whispered Word” or “mustard seed made in heaven” which would never come back to God empty handed …but surely throw down the mountain into the sea (Isaiah 55:11). By this type of communion within our own temples; then and only then you would say to the mountain… be thrown into the sea and it shall be done… There, in the ark which means a “purified ark” where God must enthrone in your life. The „enthroning God‟ means like in those days when Israelites still revered Yahweh as their ultimate King but then they had rebelled against God by demanding an earthly king to Prophet Samuel which dragged them into further rebellions against God and eventually Yahweh departed His glory or presence in the Temple. He was no longer delighted in communing with the idolatrous Israelites. He was no longer delighted in descending on the Ark of the Covenant since the Israelites did not revere Him anymore as their Ultimate King. In the same way, we must revere Jesus Christ as our treasured King in our hearts (our New Testament Ark of Covenant) so that when we come into our “arks” …there, He (the Divine Holy Spirit) will meet us and give us His whispered “word”. Only then you would truly experience the blessedness of the beatitude, “Blessed are those pure in heart for they shall see the face of God.” There have been many Xmas birthdays passed by in my life which I understand as to commemorate Jesus as the born “King” who may enthrone in my hearts but never had been given the “right” to enthrone my heart. Though He is celebrated to be the born “King” who holds the iron scepter in every Xmas and yet He never been given the chance to Seat the Kingship‟ throne on my “ark”! I guess…He may remain seated on the floor for a few more “time” and “I” may remain the „ruler” who seats on the throne of my “ark”. There seems to be no symbolizing “two Cherubim” (symbol of "ruler ship") on my “ark”. Kingship of Christ seems absence in my life. I'm independence like Adam who chose to be independence or 'separated'. No wonder, I„ve never heard the Shepherd‟s Voice…whispering...with gentle whisper... And thus, I‟ve never received the “spoken command" or "gentle whisper”. Have you received any whispered “word” in your “ark” of Covenant from the Good the Shepherd…? Jesus said that, “There … over the ―ark‖ of the Covenant Law, I will meet with you and …give you all my "whispered‖ words… (--adapted from…Exodus 25: 22).

Communion The term ―communion‖ used in this essay does not explicitly refer to our participation in the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist but rather refers to our personal ‗dialogos‘ or personal devotion with the triune God. Expiation , Definition:Guilt is said to be expiated when it is visited with punishment falling on a substitute. Expiation is made for our sins when they are punished not in ourselves but in another who consents to stand in our room. It is that by which reconciliation is effected. Sin is thus said to be "covered" by vicarious satisfaction. The cover or lid of the ark is termed in the LXX. Hilasterion, that which covered or shut out the claims and demands of the law against the sins of God's people, whereby he became "propitious" to them. The idea of vicarious expiation runs through the whole Old Testament system of sacrifices. (See- -Propitiation.) http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/expiation?s=t Luke 24: 44 – 47 (NJB)
He (Jesus) told them, 'This is what I meant when I said, while I was still with you, and that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets and in the Psalms, was destined to be fulfilled.' 45 He then opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and He said to them, 'so it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that, in his Name (...the Lamb/Jesus -the Son of the Most High --personally added note), repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 1 Peter 2: 9-10 But you are the chosen people, a royal priesthood**, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people [covenant people], but now you are the people of God; once you have not received mercy but now you have received mercy.
Note [royal priesthood] ** royal priest is rather a metaphoric language connoting the New Testament communion with King Christ Jesus for each believer. This should not to be confused with the designation of ordained priests in our Church. To be a royal priest does not mean that we are alleviating our position as lay Christians as if to be on par with the ordained priests and therefore the Sacrament somehow invalid as reasoned by Luther‘s literal commentary on Priesthood. It is rather understood as figurative speech; representing the fulfillment of all Laws, the Prophets and the Psalms [Luke 24:44] in our individual walk of faith in God. In other words, it points to our individual accessibility of personal Communion with King Christ Jesus as foreshadowed by the Chief High Priest who communed with Yahweh in the Holy of Holiest in the Old Testament Tabernacle or Tent of Meeting. The spirits of the believers serve to be the New Testament spiritual tabernacles (the ―Church‖) and thus, the very ―meeting‖ place of Communion. Therefore, lay believers are figuratively considered as royal priest since Jesus is the King of Kings and those who personally commune with Him would undeniably be figuratively serving as royal/royale priests. Thus, an ordained priest is someone among the figurative royal priests, who

had had received the Sacrament of Holy Orders , thus, feeding or shepherding the ‗figurative‘ royal priests [New Testament lay believers]. http://catholicism.about.com/od/beliefsteachings/p/Sac_Holy_Orders.htm
