When this country was being settlcd, each ol the colonies brought over its individual style of furnishings. The Puritans in New England adapted Elizabethan and Jacobean stylings. Germall and Swiss colonists produced "Pennsylvania Dutch."

Still the greatest single contribution came from the Shaker communities. The Shakers made simple, sturdy, straightforward furnishings. The simplicity, lightness and clarity of line that they instilled is revitalized in this Moe Light collection.
