Responsive Reading Leader: God, whose hand moved across the face of the deep and created all things, accept the gift of our hands. People: Like Moses, we are amazed that what we hold in our hands is holy and acceptable in your sight. Leader: For, God, you know how much we need hands that lift us up, hands that clap in joy, People: hands that tend gardens, hands that turn pages in books, Leader: hands rough from doing justice, hands wrinkled after years of caring. People: hands that have not pulled back from the bedside of pain. Leader: O Lord, let us beware of being alone, of folding our hands or curling our fingers toward ourselves. People: For you are the creator of relationships, the Blesser of friendships. You called us into community, so we may be your hands and feet in this world.

Leader: Remind us that no hand is too small, too scarred, too manicured, too rough, too clumsy to hand a gift to another. People: No hand is too slow, too quick, too sure to pass your peace to a sister or brother in Christ, whose hands were wounded for our sakes and touch us with blessing even now.
