PRAYER AND PRAISE

Please pray for Judy Miller as she prepares for open-heart surgery in two weeks time. It is believed that she will need a triple-bypass surgery, which is no small matter! Pray for peace and comfort for Judy and her family, and a successful surgery! Please pray that the Kindergarten would quickly receive the required approvals to be eligible for the 20 sponsored hours from the government. Please pray that the renovations to our facility would move ahead with excellence, and would end up being considerably under budget. Please pray for God's hand of blessing in the establishment of two upcoming ministries: 'The Playroom' Cafe and the 'Mainly Music' program. Both of these ministries are slated to begin shortly after the Kindy opens, and their leadership needs God's wisdom, guidance, and favour. Please pray that the Lord would lead and comfort the McGowan family as they learn to live with Aspergers. Pray for several discipleship groups and for womens Bible studies meeting throughout BoboDioulasso, Africa. These small group interactions are vital to the spiritual growth of new believers.

Are you new to this facility?

We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that: The Childrens Ministry begins part way through the service. This is for children between the ages of 3 13 years. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

A box will be provided in the foyer. I failed my marketing class

God is not one to speak in generalities. When He whispers from the pages of Scripture or confronts through a friend's words, the Father directly addresses issues in His children's lives. With that in mind, let's look at His three goals for communicating with believersnamely, for us to:
1. Comprehend the truth. God wants us to learn His

ways and principles, to recognize our own frailty, and to identify the needs of others. He does more than offer this as head knowledgeHe makes truth applicable to our lives. For example, the Lord assured Paul that His strength was sufficient to carry the apostle through anything (2 Cor. 12:9). Circumstances taught the apostle that God's Word was true.
2. Conform to the truth. Our lives are shaped by our

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN at WHAC

Ages 37 Ages 8 13 Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.

When advertising a prayer ministry, you're supposed to use words like "power" or "warfare" or "a sweet and bless-ed time" to try to get people to come by emphasizing various (and legitimate) aspects of prayer. But, I'm horrible at marketing, instead friends: if you want to join the growing prayer movement at WHAC as we seek to move into the community to pray for them in intelligent ways, drawing them out of brokenness into wholeness in Christ, while submitting our church and ministry before the Lord for His empowerment and leading, please talk to Phil Ruston or Pastor Matt, and we'll get you connected. belief system. What we hold as true influences our thinking. In turn, how we think affects our character, conduct, and conversation. God is determined to mould His children into Christlikeness so that they reflect His gospel to the world.
3. Communicate the truth. Every child of God is

called to make disciples (Matt. 28:19). Believers can know the Lord and walk in His light but still fall short of this expectation. We must share the gospel by sharing God's truth with others and explaining how His words played out in our lives.
Notice that each goal builds on the one preceding it. Christians are a light reflecting God's glory to this world. We shine brightly by being attentive to God's voice and following His will. And when someone takes an interest in the source of our light, we are prepared to share the good news of Christ.
