If you need more information, please contact Diane Key at Sign Up for Eucharistic Adoration As Catholics, we believe that Jesus comes to us under the form of bread and wine, and when we spend time in adoration, we are spending time with someone, not something. Exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be offered at the UCC on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Elizabeth Lange at for more information or to sign up, visit Apologetics Series by Dr. Robert Koons, October 24 Please join us on October 24 for the last session in the apologetics series presented by Dr. Robert Koons, professor of Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. Weekly Reflection:
In today’s Gospel, the disciples are worried about who will be the most important in Jesus’ kingdom. They are misguided and concerned about earthly prominence and recognition rather than understanding Jesus’ message of what it means to be a servant to the people. In what concrete ways are you living your faith through service to others? Isaac Hecker Quote “The true picture must be presented and contrasted with the false, so as to captivate the intelligence and enlist the enthusiasm of the active minds of the youth of the age. This is the great work that, in the economy of God, is mainly left to the initiative of individual minds among the members of His Church. It is the work of Catholic genius illuminated by the light and guided by the interior inspirations of the Holy Spirit.” [The Church and the Age, 1887] Paulist Fathers’ Mission Statement We give the Word of God a voice in pulpits and print, on radio and television, on the Web and the wide screen. We search out those who have no church home, and welcome home those who have been away. We share the passion of St. Paul for unity in faith and solidarity in mission among all the baptized in the body of Christ. We build bridges of respect and collaboration with people of other world religions. We welcome people of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds in our parish, city center and campus worshipping communities. The Gospel we preach calls for all the children of God to be treated with dignity and justice. We claim Isaac Hecker as our founder, the Holy Spirit as our primary guide, St. Paul as our patron and laity as our valued partners in mission. We are the Paulist Fathers. Missionaries to North America.
