We invite you to join our network of 13,000+ educators to participate in this global education extravaganza! The Global Education Conference (GEC) is a collaborative and world-wide community event designed to significantly increase opportunities for globally-connecting educators (primary, secondary and tertiary levels), students, and organizations. General session strands will focus on teachers, students, curriculum, policies, professional development and leadership. Keynote speakers for this year’s conference are numerous and include Tony Wagner of Harvard, Andrew Revkin of the New York Times, Dale Dougherty of Make Magazine, and social media expert Beth Kanter. The conference will also be reprising its virtual film exhibition and will feature the work of Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee and his Global Oneness Project. These educational events are free of charge to all participants and will be held completely online in Blackboard Collaborate virtual rooms. Sessions are scheduled around the clock over the course of five days to accommodate multiple time zones. The main conference website and network is located at: New to this year’s event will be two technology-related strands. BrainPOP is sponsoring a section on gaming and game design and is sponsoring another on global technology-driven innovation in cooperation with EdSurge. Both promise to highlight projects that leverage technology to promote global collaboration and understanding. Proposals to participate in all strands of the conference will be accepted through October 29, 2012.
