HOW TO GET STARTED

Visit Jing website on your favorite web browser

Jing’s home page

To start, we will download Jing. It’s FREE.

Click Free Download button.

You will see this page.

Choose what operating system you are using.

This small box will appear. Click on the Run button.

Click on OK button.

You may opt to watch the video tutorial first.

As you hover your mouse over the Jing’s sun. 3 rays will appear.

Hover your mouse over the Jing sun.

Click on the ray with a + like sign on it.

Your screen will look like this. It’s grayish.

Click and drag the mouse to the picture you wish to capture.

You have captured a part of your screen.

Click on the Capture An Image button.

Date/Time is the default filename. You may rename it

To rename the file, type on the space.

Now that you have captured the picture. Now it’s time to share it.

Screencast.com is the hosting solution of Jing. It is also a product of technismith.

HOW TO CAPTURE A VIDEO.

Select your capture area.

Hover your mouse over the Jing’s sun, and click Capture

Then drag cursor to the chosen video you wish to capture.

Click on Capture video.

A countdown appears and your recording would then start.

Jing will record what takes place in the capture area.

The audio from your microphone would also be recorded.

So you could explain what’s happening in your screen.

Below the captured video is the option tools .

If you don’t want to record audio, use this button to mute the audio..

You can also pause the recording using the pause button.

I should mention that the maximum recording time is 5 minutes only.

When you are done just click the Finish button.

A small box will open.

Jing preview window will open. You can play back or review the video.

Give your video a filename or simply the date/time stint.

You can share your video through Screencast.com which is the best way to share. Click:

Or you can save it directly to your computer, by clicking Save button.
