CTBUH Country Leader Responsibilities, (revised 1st July 2008)


Profile:

The country leader must have been involved in significant tall building projects in the country, or must be a high-standing academic involved in tall buildings. The country leader can be a developer, builder, architect, engineer, academic or other specialist, of high standing within the building community. The country leader must be a CTBUH member in either the organizational and/or individual member categories. Represent the Council within their country of residence; and adjacent countries if there is no country representative. Represent their country within the Council. Be a point of contact for the international press, for tall building-related stories within the country. Meet with any new developers, architects, engineers who plan to work in their country to briefly describe working practices.

Role:

Responsibilities / Requirements: o Provide the Council with a significant (200+) list of contacts to be included in the CTBUH Database for receiving the Councils newsletter and other notices. (Note: The CTBUH contact list remains within the Council headquarters and is not shared with outside sources). o Solicit new organizational and individual memberships on behalf of the Council within the country and other regions if appropriate. o Check that the Councils list of tall buildings in their country, and adjacent countries, is accurate, and maintain / update the list. o Continually keep the Council abreast of new projects proposed, starting construction, topped out and completed in the country, for the CTBUH database and news archives. o Contribute news items to the CTBUH website news archives and other website / journal resources. o Provide short resume (focusing on tall buildings) and photo (head shot) for use in country leader section of website, journal etc. o Prepare a brief annual report (by 31st December) that shall confirm 1. List of tall buildings for that country is correct, 2. Member solicitations undertaken and new members resulting, 3. Any new contacts to add to the database, 4. Any meetings with new developers, architects, engineers who plan to work in their country, that originated from the CTBUH web-site, 5. Any other communications on behalf of CTBUH / use of CTBUH letterhead,

6. Any objectives and input they would like to have into running the Council Country leaders will find a replacement leader after a 3-4 year term. The new leader will belong to a different company.

Named as the primary CTBUH contact for that country, on both the CTBUH web site and with our list of press contacts. Become a point of contact for international press and people interested in that country. Included in the organizational structure listings of the Council in all CTBUH publications. Invited to become active within the decision-making structure of the CTBUH (e.g. through the Steering Group or similar). Each CTBUH Journal will do a 1/2-page featuring one country leader. Leaders of countries having ten or more country members, would have their profile featured on the CTBUH web site, together with links to their site.
