Lekh Lekha 2012

Lekh Lekha, Go Forth, Yourself covers Genesis 12:1-17:27 with the responsibility of the Covenant being firmly established in the line of Shem and the mantle being picked up by Abram who is given a unique word from Yahweh to go forth! Its within this portion that Abram accepts the call of Yahweh to go forth to a land he has not known, leaving all that he is familiar with behind, and by doing so he sets the course for all his descendants after him as well as becomes the blueprint for what it means to be in covenant. If we fast-forward to our day, we find that the majority of believers have been so far removed from the covenant and so in steeped once again into the same culture of Babylon that Abraham was expected to come out of, that this same call is now reverberating again, but what all does it entail for us and why would we be expected to go forth? Genesis 12:1-3 Out: Strongs #3212 yalak to go, walk, come; related to #1980 halak to go, walk, come; close cognate is #1983 halak toll, custom duty, tribute used only in Ezra describing a toll that would be placed upon Israel by a foreign ruler (King of Persia) as they rebuilt the temple, but later in Ezra 7:24 Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of Elohim, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom/halak, upon them.. *Could it be that this decree from Yahweh to Abram, to go forth/halak, it as well has something to do with a toll/custom thats been enacted by a foreign ruler, yet if he will minister in the House of Yahweh (walk in Covenant) it will be unlawful to impose this on him? Lawful: Strongs #7990 shalliyt having mastery, having authority, ruling; from #7980 shalat to domineer, exercise power over, dominate, have mastery, be master, lord it over Has same 2 letter root as Lot covering, he becomes synonymous with the covering of the flesh (*Remember that this is the name of Abrams nephew who as well goes with him) Toll: Strongs #4061 middah tribute; from #4060 middah measure, measurement, stature, size, garment 2) tribute

1 )
to

Tribute: Strongs #1093 below tribute; connected to #1086 balah wear out, become old, be exhausted, waste away

Could it be that if Abram would be obedient to walk/go forth, part of the

promise was that the tax/toll that would cause his garment (flesh) to be worn out/become old/waste away would no longer rule over him (domineer, exercise, power over, or lord over)? The numerical value of this phrase Lekh Lekha = 100; same as Strongs #4522 mas forced labor or service, tribute, levy, enforced payment & #5671 abtiyt weight of pledges, heavy debts, from #5670 abat to take a pledge, give a pledge for a debt, to change or exchange *If Abraham would go forth (lekh lekha) then there was the promise that there was another that would exchange the debt become the pledge, a reference to the Messiah! This is further emphasized as well in the traveling companions of Abram, Sarai and Lot! Sarai: Strongs #8297 Saray princess; from #8323 to be or act as prince, rule, contend, have power, prevail over, reign govern, to hold dominion Lot: Strongs #3876 Lowt covering (synonymous with the covering of the flesh); Gematria = 45, same as #2258 chabolah pledge, these items were usually peoples cloaks; from #2254 chabal to bind, to take a pledge or lay to pledge, to destroy/spoil, deal corruptly or offend, to bring forth/travail & #120 adam man, mankind In other words, by being obedient to walk in Torah there would be an exchange of power/dominion, even though Adam had allowed us to become bound to a foreign ruler (to the serpent) in a covenant that would cause our cloak/flesh to be corrupted and destroyed, Abram would be instrumental in the power being restored to the rightful ruler! And this as well becomes what we are instrumental in when we keep Torah. In order to walk in Torah/to walk with Yahweh, he was required to get out of his county, from his kindred, and from his fathers house. Country: Strongs #776 erets land, earth; its spelled with the same letters as #686 atsar to store up, to save, to treasure up, now remember this is what Abram is being called out of, something that has been treasured up and saved at this location. A cognate of #686 is #6113 atsar to restrain, shut, withhold, to close up, or to detain (*something that is stored here causes something else to be withheld or closed up); carries with it the idea of being barren, of being in bondage or slavery Kindred: Strongs #4138 mowledeth kindred, birth, offspring, relatives; from #3205 yalad to bear, bring forth, beget, gender, or travail

The 3 letter root of mowledeth is #4135) )muwl meaning to circumcise or be cut off & the end root of this word is #1881) ) decree, law, edict, regulation; also the 2 letter root of #1847 daath knowledge (tree of knowledge of good and evil) *Abram was being commanded to go forth in order to restore the power and authority that had been lost in order to do that it required him to circumcise/cut off any other knowledge/word (tree of knowledge of good and evil) that exalted itself against the Word of Yahweh, because storing up/treasuring anything other than Torah would cause his house to remain in bondage and slavery! 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of Elohim, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Messiah; He was also commanded to come out of his fathers house Abrams father was Terah: Strongs #8646 Terach station or delay; = shares the same root as Towr #8449) )dove, turtledove (if you add the letter it forms Torah) & = shares the same root as Ruach spirit, wind, breath *John 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. If Abram would be obedient to do this, to come out/go forth and walk in Torah, we find that the debt that was owed, the pledge needed, would manifest in Messiah and Abram would be able to walk in the same authority and power having the dove/Ruach resting upon him! What is being revealed to Abram, and to us today as well, is that if he would walk/yalak with Yahweh in covenant and in Torah it would cause the Messiah to be made known to him! Get thee out: Strongs #3212 yalak to go, walk, or come; breaking it apart prefix = He will & = to you He will come to you! The fruit of this would be that and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Gen. 12:3). Families: Strongs #4940 mishpachah clan, family; closely related to #4939 mispach bloodshed, outpouring of blood; the only difference between the 2 is that this is missing the letter (breath, spirit, revelation) to be a blessing to all the families was literally telling Abram that through him, the blood that would be poured out on our behalf would be revealed! Yet we also find a startling comparison in this word play that by missing the spirit of the Torah instead of being a blessing to the mishpachah we become one who sheds blood in the house instead! Earth: Strongs #127 adamah

ground, land; contains the same root as

Adam and in Gen. 3:17 cursed is the ground for thy sake *Tying all this together, we find that when Abram goes forth and takes back the authority thats been lost and enables the flesh to be redeemed from the debt, that it would be a blessing to all those formed from the adamah that Adam had caused to be cursed its the obedience to lekh lekha/to go forth for yourself that enables the curse to be lifted! Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of Elohim. *Remember in Ezra, it was unlawful for the tax/custom/toll to be imposed upon those that served in the house of Yahweh! Blessed: Strongs #1288 barak to bless, kneel, to praise, or salute; spelled with the same letters as #1069 boker firstborn, to be born first barak and boker form a unique word play in the Hebrew and specifically point towards the blessing of the firstborn son; 2 letter root pure, clean, radiant, something which has a cleansing property gematria = 222, the same value as the phrase arak/I will show you Genesis 12:1 unto a land that I will show you/arak *Could it be that in addition to the physical land that Yahweh was going to show Abraham, that he was also showing to him/revealing to him the blessing of the firstborn son that there was one who would cleanse him making him pure, clean, and radiant? And by going forth, Abram as well would show this blessing to all others. Now we can understand that its by walking in Torah, keeping the Covenant, that we become one who lifts up the Son in the earth! John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me. As we continue to tie these threads together, lets take a look at the term flesh, since Abraham is entering into a covenant that would redeem the flesh! Flesh: Strongs #1320 basar flesh; from #1319 basar to bear news, to bear tidings, publish, preach, show forth, to announce salvation; in other words our garment/flesh reveals a message if we are walking in Torah, it reveals the message of salvation/bears good news proclaiming to the cursed of the ground that they can be redeemed, that the toll does not apply to them because a pledge was given and the authority restored! However, the failure to walk in Torah is proclaimed in our flesh as well, because the diseases of Egypt mark us as one whos still under the authority of a foreign ruler! Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Yahweh thy Elohim, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I [am] Yahweh that healeth thee.

Diseases: Strongs #4245 machaleh disease, sickness; from #2470 chalah to be or become weak, sick, diseased, grieved, or sorry; cognate of #2471 challah cake, refers to the challah bread! The diseases of Egypt are a direct result of failing to eat the challah bread the Bread of Life/Torah! There are 2 ways to walk/go, 2 paths (narrow and broad). 1st reference to Yalak/to go Gen. 3:14 upon thy belly shalt thou go/yalak a curse upon the serpent, later in Lev. 11:42 Whatsoever goeth/halak upon the belly, and whatsoever goest/halak upon [all] four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they [are] an abomination. Abomination: Strongs #8263 sheqets detestable thing or idol, an unclean thing, an abomination, detestation; from #8262 shaqats to detest, make abominable, count filthy, make detestable *Gematria = 490, same as moladti my kindred (Abram was commanded to come out from his moledeth to cut off all other knowledge that attempted to exalt itself above the Word of Yahweh) & #8549 tamiym complete, whole, entire, sound (seen in connection with Abram later in this portion in Gen. 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the El Shaddai; walk/halak before me, and be thou perfect/tamiym.) Whats the difference between sheqets/abomination and tamiym/complete? Tamiym when broken apart = = covenant, Torah & = water One who is tamiym is one who has chosen to apply the cleansing waters of the Torah to their lives instead of choosing to remain in the filth (sheqets) Our walk can either be one that lifts up the Son and declares in the earth that weve been redeemed (we do so by walking before Him tamiym/applying the waters), or we can be one who remains in the dust and because were failing to walk in Covenant/failing to serve in Yahwehs house the toll/tribute will be expected from us by the foreign king, the one who consumes the dust!
