HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY NEW SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 37-39; Hebrews 7 Monday, November 5 Job 9:2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? O God My Father: I deserve to be cast out of heaven forever, cut off from all hope of mercy eternally. I deserve to fall under the curse of the same law I have broken, and be forever banished from the blessings of the grace I refused for so long. I have sinned against so much mercy and light, I am no longer worthy to be called your child. I am utterly unworthy of any of the favors promised in your word, yet you have given me encouragement to hope for them! If you contend with us for our transgressions, we are not able to answer you, O Lord, nor do we make excuse for one of a thousand (Job 9:3). Psa. 130:3-4,7 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. O Father! Take away the guilt of my sins by the atonement of your Son. Subdue the power of my sin by your Spirit! Deliver me from the natural darkness of my own mind, from the corruption of my heart, and from the perverse tendencies of my evil propensities and passions. Free me from the temptations I am exposed to, and from the daily snares that follow me. I am in constant danger while I am in this life, so let the watchful eye of God be on me for my defense. Deliver me from your wrath, and from the eternal punishment that is due to my sins in hell. Save me from the power of my enemies in this world, and from all painful consequences I have justly exposed myself to by sinning against you. Until I feel wounded for my own sins, really wounded, I will never be prepared to bring the Spirits mercies to others. Give me grace to seek Jesus face, because I ask it in his name and for his sake. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 40-42; Hebrews 8 Tuesday, November 6 Mark 16:7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. Glorious God: There are appointed places you meet your disciples, and I know you always keep your appointments. You promised to meet me at the mercy-seatthank you for saving my soul You promised to meet me in public worshipthank you for my church and its pastors You promised to meet me in the ordinancesthank you for the opportunity to share the Lords Supper and baptism with my family You promised to meet me in your wordthank you for my disciplers, and this daily reading schedule You promised to meet me in prayerthank you for this prayer guide If I stay away from those meeting places, it is my own fault I dont feel your presence. Help me place you first in fellowship, because You go before me. Your heart is already with your people today. Your delight is in what I do to respond to your plan. You are never slow to meet me as I arrive at the place you want me. But you only reveal yourself to those who come-after you, because There shall ye see him. What a sight for sore eyes! When I see Jesus I am filled with joy and peace, because you do everything according to your promises (as he said unto you). Help me really catch those last five words and be assured you will forever do what youve promised to do in Jesus holy name. Amen. FRIDAY 40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR HARVESTKIDS Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 49-52; Hebrews 11 Friday, November 9 Lam. 3:22-23 It is of the LORDS mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Oh Almighty God: We beg you to look on the desires of our hearts for our children. Stretch out the right hand of your majesty to be their defense against the enemy. Our own evil deeds deserve to be punished, but by the comfort of your grace they have been forgiven. We are so grateful for that! And we want to share it with the Harvest kids. Look on us all mercifully as your people, because by your great goodness we can be led by our pastors and preserved from falling into temptation. Guard us and our children both in body and in soul today. Give us grace in presenting the gospel to kids. In your tender love you sent your Son to take our flesh on himself, and so suffer death on the cross as our substitute and sacrifice. He did not go up to joy until he first suffered pain in our place; its as if he would not have heaven without us! Help us lead others to this great offer of salvation in the glorious good news. Grant that as we walk in the way of the cross today we can find the lane of life and the path of peace. Rom. 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Jesus gave his back to the smiters, and hid not his face from shame on our behalf. Grant us grace to join him, choose inconvenience, and face joyfully any suffering in the mission, in full assurance of the glory that will be revealed. 1 Pet. 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Send us new mercies for this, a new day. Let us start over in the Lamb! Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 43-45; Hebrews 9 Wednesday, November 7 Isa. 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Heavenly Father! Have I found the way of peace? Then make me earnest in telling others about it. Too many believers have become deaf mutes. They are deaf to the spiritual cries of others, and silent about giving either instruction or encouragement on how to find God. Which way to the cross? Why do I not tell them? I know so much more than I say. Do I not hear their cry? It may be masked as a moan for something material, but I know what they really needthe gospel. They are lost in finding it. Too often I am lost to give it. I am content to occupy a seat on Sunday, but never go out to share what I have found. If I know the way I should show the way as I go the way, and 2 Tim. 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. God, make me ready to point the way to heaven to everybody, whether they ask to know it or not! Maybe my description of the pathway will awaken their desire to get un-lost. We introduce people to our friends sometimes just because they are standing there. So Jesus, I want to be an effective influence in introducing others to you. If I show them the way to the cross, then maybe they will be encouraged to walk in it. Turn right and keep going straight. Only one turn is needed: when you come to the cross. But it must be a complete turning. Then, whether I reach Canaan or not, I will not go back to Egypt. I will die facing God and his grace, because ultimately, that is true revival! Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Lamentations 1-3; Hebrews 12 Saturday, November 10 Psa. 72:7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. Gracious God: Solomon was both king and a kings son; so is my Lord Jesus. He has power and authority in himself, but also by royal prerogative. I am waiting until he is manifested as ever-righteous judge. I thank you Lord that I can really never suffer wrong, because I am a subject of your kingdom. Your throne is unspotted by a single deed of injustice or mistake of mis-judgment. Everything you have done in my life is right. Everything you have allowed the wicked to do against me you have used. An understanding of your providence preserves my sanity. I do not always see what it is you are trying to do, but my King deals in justice. Where Jesus is, there is peace. Even those things I once dreaded have lost their terror when I see Jesus as my King. When I see Jesus my King, then trials only increase my peace. All the powers and passions of my soul are filled with tranquility in trust. Isa. 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: Sin, Satan, and my enemies are all crushed by the ruling rod of my King Jesus. I have no cause to be scared, but great reason to sing. Psa. 72:12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. May others also make Jesus Lord! When they have owned him as their King, then they will have escaped the tyranny of the Prince of Darkness. I do not yet see all things under your feet. But with Jesus on the throne, I have no doubts about the outcome. Give me grace to trust you more today. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 46-48; Hebrews 10 Thursday, November 8 Rom 6:3-5 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Once far from God and dead in sin, no light my heart could see;
But in Gods Word the light I found, now Christ liveth in me. As rays of light from yonder sun, the flowers of earth set free, So life and light and love came forth from Christ living in me. As lives the flower within the seed, as in the cone the tree, So, praise the God of truth and grace, His Spirit dwelleth in me. With longing all my heart is filled, that like Him I may be, As on the wondrous thought I dwell that Christ liveth in me. Christ liveth in me, Christ liveth in me, Oh! what a salvation this, that Christ liveth in me. Daniel W. Whittle, 1891

TUESDAY

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
