YOUTH THEATRE 2013

DECEMBER 15 8:30–11:00 A.M. $20/PERSON WINNETKACOMMUNITYHOUSE.ORG

At 6 feet 7 inches tall, Dennis is truly the “Sears Tower of Magic.” He’s not just some guy doing a few magic tricks--he does some of the funniest stuff you’ve ever seen! This show blends his lightning-quick wit, improvisational experience (with the famed Second City) and years of performing for a wide range of audiences. Witness the excitement of a child floating in the air during this unparalleled family magic show.

Sky Squad, led by Andres Baines (aka Sky Guy) has thrilled millions of fans with their aerial artistry. Dazzling acrobatic flips and twists off mini trampolines mixed with comedy antics, mid-air passes and dynamic slam dunking delivers non-stop pure energy excitement to audiences of all ages. Sky Squad is the official dunk team for the WNBA Chicago Sky. This special presentation will be located in the gymnasium.

Free Simply Music Workshop!
December 4 and 11 Simply Music is a remarkable, Australian-developed piano method that guarantees to have you playing great-sounding music from your very first lessons! Traditional piano lessons require students to learn how to read music as the means of learning how to play. This “read first, play later” approach is slow and frustrating, and far too many students never acquire the ability to play. In contrast, Simply Music uses a revolutionary approach, focusing on the sheer joy of playing and producing immediate results. We then introduce reading after students have developed a natural connection to the piano and can play a huge repertoire. Gone are the relentless hours of drills, scales and boring practice sessions. Even if you have no musical experience, this remarkable method guarantees extraordinary results and will immediately have you playing contemporary, classical, blues, gospel and accompaniment pieces. Join us for a free introductory lesson on December 4 and December 11 from 6:00–7:00 p.m. with Lynn Sanders.

Winnetka Community House is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in the safest manner possible, and holds the safety of the participants in the highest possible regard. Participants and parents registering their child in recreation programs must recognize, however, that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreation activities. Winnetka Community House continually strives to reduce such risks, and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions which have been designed to protect the participants’ safety. Please recognize that Winnetka Community House does not carry medical accident insurance for injuries sustained in its programs. The cost of such would make program fees prohibitive. Therefore, each person registering himself\herself or a family member for a recreation program/activity should review his/her own health insurance policy for coverage. It must be noted that the absence of health insurance coverage does not make Winnetka Community House automatically responsible for payment of medical expenses. Due to the difficulty and high cost of obtaining liability insurance, the agency providing liability coverage for Winnetka Community House requires the execution of the following Waiver and Release. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. I do hereby fully release and discharge Winnetka Community House and its officers, agents, servants and employees from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damages or loss which I may have or which may accrue to me on account of my participation. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend Winnetka Community House and its officers, agents, servants and employees from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damages or losses sustained by me or arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with the activities of the program.
