Bicycle-sharing is a network of bicycles that are available to the public, ani Schroeder.

At a time when its most critical that the person directly in charge of the peace and order situation suddenly retires at the peak, that seems wrong. So Ill discuss that with him. And he might go on what is called non-duty status, anang Pangulo. You would want the person who will be in charge of monitoring and supervising the conduct of the PNP to have the chance to organize, to be able to put in place the necessary people to ensure that we have orderly a n d p e a c e f u l e l e ctions, aniya.

The residents like it. Some even thought it was a barangay project when its not, ani barangay chair Josephine Velasco, na tinukoy si Mayor Herbert Bautista para sa ideya. That area (along Kalayaan) is a slum area which covers about 6,000 square meters of government land. So we wanted to brighten up the view somehow, ani Velasco.

Now Im encouraging my neighbors to help water the plants. After all, this project is for us.

The color is easier on the eyes. It somehow brightens up the mood of the community, aniya.

Sa panayam ng Radio Veritas, sinabi ni Ongtioco: Its necessary so that in case something happened, you can easily make a review and identify the perpetrators.

FEATURES Authentic HK cuisine arrives in Makati

HONG Kong Roast started out as a side business for Mary Chan who was inspired by her travels and gustatory adventures abroad. Featured in the Hong Kong Roast menu are favorite local dishes from Hong Kong. Mary recreated these dishes to provide a pocket of sincere, casual Chinese dining in the middle of busy, impersonal Makati.
The offerings on the menu are simple and straight to the point. No pretensions and no fancy presentations. The Salted Baked Chicken is an easy favorite. Baked under a blanket of rock salt, the dish is in fact a gentler, simpler version of chicken, with only a slight tang of saltiness lingering in its meat despite its name. Another simple light dish to try is their Celery Fish. With its thick sauce and fresh bits of celery, the textures of crunch and softness immersed in the fullness of the sauce complement each other beautifully. Some of the meatier dishes in the Hong Kong Roast menu are the Sate Beef Hofan, and the Barbeque Roast Pork. Each meat dish bears a distinct Chinese flavor. The thick noodles of the Beef Hofan are a great pair to the beef, while the sauce made from the drippings of the Barbeque Roast Pork definitely adds richness to the tender pork slices. Sweet and Sour Pork, another dish that has been branded as a Filipino favorite, has found an authentic reincarnation in this restaurant, with the rendition perfectly balancing the two contrasting flavors. As rice is a Filipino staple, the regular Filipino meal is never complete without it even with the most delectable viands. Hong Kong Roast does it right with their lively Yang Chao Fried Rice. Now, there are no more excuses to appreciate the rich cuisine we have inherited from our East Asian neighbors. Hong Kong Roast is located at 22 Jupiter St. cor Galaxy St., Bel-air, Makati City. Iti is open Monday to Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 511-1300.

Directed by Armando A. This youth flick features five stories: 1) After mom flies to the United States, cute kid tries to reconnect with dad; 2) Spoiled brat gets entangled with pretty professor; 3) Gay mentor harasses provincial lad; 4) Street-smart hustler finds redemption in true romance; and 5) So does class clown. Exclusively in SM Cinemas.

OHN Estrada is raving about his new teleserye on ABS-CBN, A Beautiful Affair, top-billed by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. I watched the pilot episode and got glued instantly. The Bea-Lloydie tandem never fails to cast a spell and John is captivating as always. As the story unravels, it could turn out to be too beautiful just to be an affair.
What can the audience learn from your teleserye? Theyre in for a wild rollercoaster ride. We are all working hard to make it as real as possible. It will teach them not to let go of people, treasure love, and live for the moment. Define a beautiful affair. Its meeting the right person at the right time without the complications that reality brings. But that rarely happens. Love is usually complicated and full of drama. How has your wife Priscilla tamed you? I must say its not just Pri and my kids who made it possible. It came with maturity. What are your plans for your baby girls first birthday? I leave it all to Pri because shes good at that. She does the planning, and Ill do the paying. How do you bond with your kids (Inah, Moira, Kaila and Yuan, with Janice de Belen and Anechka with Pri)? With Anechka, its during feeding time. I really enjoy spending time with her because she already plays a lot. With my other kids, we have dinner and watch movies. I love talking to them because theyre all grownup already. They have wonder-

ful plans for their lives. Are you willing to work with Janice? Ive always been open to working with her, but shes vocal about not wanting to work with me. Id rather not force the issue. There are some things I dont have to do, she pointed out. Im better off this way. Does she feel that she loves her grandchildren a little more than her kids? I love them all equally, she quipped. I guess thats why they say na mas mahal ang tubo sa puhunan, because as a lola all I have to do is spoil and love Adrianne and Alejandro. Rearing and disciplining them is the job of their parents. Whats her birthday gift to herself? I want to put up a food truck that will tour the city and serve hot meals. As hot as a mama/lola that she is!

Saints stun Warriors; Cardinals triumph

By Jasmine W. Payo
ST. CLARE shocked University of the East while Mapua pulled off a close win under a new coach in the Metro Manila qualifiers of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena. Jeff Viernes hit a fadeaway shot with 25.9 seconds left as the Saints stunned the Warriors, 81-79, at the start of the threeday leg. Viernes finished with 22 points and Marte Gil also had 22 to lead the Saints, the reigning champions of the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (Naascu). We really prepared for this, said St. Clare coach Jinno Manansala. The Mapua Cardinals survived a relentless Centro Escolar University squad, 72-66, with Gab Banal unloading nine of his 16 points in the final quarter. Its good that in the end, the boys came back, said Randy Alcantara, who took over as interim coach after Mapua opted not to renew Chito Victoleros contract last week.

At this point, were enjoying it. S a m a n t a l a , d i nu r o g n g N e w Yo r k Knicks ang Philadelphia 76ers, 110-88, upang umakyat sa 30.
