What I felt about Arthur Hailey "Wheels" Book | Interesting Parts of the book "Wheels"
I felt its a page-turning story set up against a realistic background. The novel is a mixture all spices, romance, mystery both written in a typically fictional way; even though I know that this is a fictional work, I found myself curious about the later part when the plot completely unfolds. This is my first book written by Arthur Hailey, and I enjoyed every page of it. The book is full of emotional and professional stresses which can be a part of anyones life. Typically the main character is something which is not that main i.e., though I felt that the leading character (Adam Trenton) is not the only one who is important ; every other character is linked to him in such a way that the story is entangled between a group of characters not just a single one. This is the first time I have read a plot written in that way, and to be surprised I am quite impressed with the way the author presented it. No doubt its aBestseller! The views of several international social issues are clearly stated by the author throughout the novel like apartheid among the workers in the factory, corruption among the dealers, influence of workers over the production output etc. no doubt these issues are well known to all of us but I felt presenting them in a novel way is somewhat a new method and I liked it. The only part which I felt unsatisfied is the way the author limited importance of few characters esp. Adam. I felt he shouldve given more insight into his character and nature. The reader understands that in the end, and realizes the world is full of compromises, not easy answers. If I am asked to rate the novel I can give it an 8/10
