Today is Veterans Day.

This is the day to thank those who have served in our armed forces and to pray for and support those currently serving. Several members of our congregation are in the Reserves or on Active Duty. We thank each of these and those who have served. Take time today to speak to each of our veterans. I am writing this article before the election results are in. I do not know who has won or lost. But this I do know, the Bible is specific in telling us to pray for those who lead us. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (NIV) The time to pray for our nation and leaders is not just prior to an election, but always, everyday. I hope you are praying continually for this great nation and those who lead it. I hope you have prayed for the worship services today. Paul

SAINTS ALIVE
We will be traveling to Valdosta First Baptist for our annual Fall Fellowship of Choirs. Joe Mason, a Christian comedian, will be our entertainer and we anticipate the traditional Thanksgiving food to be as spectacular as ever. A sign-up list will be available at the Saints Alive rehearsal tomorrow. I will be phoning in our total participation at noon, so please call me with your reservation if you are unable to attend the rehearsal. The comfortable big bus will be making the trip and Billy Poppell has agreed to drive for us. The bus will leave the church lot at 9:30 AM on Thursday, November 15th. We plan to return about 3:00 PM.

Lets look at a couple of big calendar items that are coming up: Shockwave Dress Rehearsal- This will be a big night of preparations for the Shockwave Christmas production. If you are in any part of the production, you will need to be here for this. It will be a full dress rehearsal. It will start at 4:00 and be over by 6:30. This will give just enough time to walk over for the Thanksgiving dinner. Student ministries Thanksgiving meal- This will be a meal for all student ministries to come together and share in fellowship. We are providing the turkey and we are asking that every student bring one side dish. The Mary Martha class will be assisting in decorations and desserts. Please let me know if you are planning on attending so I can get an estimate for food preparations. It will be on November 17th @ 7:00p.m. in the fellowship hall. I would also like to remind you to keep an eye on the builder for the upcoming events. We are swamped with activities and I will continue to try to keep you informed of the dates and times. NOTE: A special thanks to the students for making over 100 Christmas boxes. I love seeing the Word play out in your lives.
