as an effective and efficient method in order to separate these two types of Carbon Nanotubes. Raman spectroscopy and absorbance spectroscopy were employed to characterize the separated samples. Results show purification of 62% in metallic products. Keywords: Metallic CNT; Semiconducting CNT; Dielectrophoresis; Raman spectroscopy. CAR 022

We present Nyquist stability analysis based on transmission line modeling for single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) bundle interconnects. In this analysis, dependence of the degree of relative Nyquist stability for SWCNT bundle interconnects on the dielectric constant (r) of each tube has been acquired. It is shown that with increasing the dielectric constant of each tube, SWCNT bundle interconnects become more stable. Keywords: Carbon nanotube; Interconnects; Dielectric constant; Nyquist stability criterion

In this paper, ultimate stress of defected single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) has been investigated by using structural mechanics. For simulation of nonlinear behaviour of C-C bonds, modified Morse potential is used and initial elastic modulus is assigned to equivalent frame element. The nanotube is loaded incrementally and at the each step of loading, the stiffness of each element is changed according to modified Morse potential. When the axial strain of C-C bond attains to 19%, the element is eliminated by decreasing its stiffness to very small value. This procedure is continuing until the nanotube ruptured completely. For applying this method, we used the APDL option of Ansys software. Finally, the ultimate stress of two types of CNTs, zigzag and armchair by taking into vacancy defects is determined for different lengths and diameters. Results show that the ultimate stress of armchair nanotubes is larger than zigzag. Also by increasing length of nanotubes, the ultimate stress decreases clearly. Hybrid nanomaterials consisting of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) decorated with palladium nanoparticles are produced by irradiating of solid foil Pd target submerged in the aqueous solutions of MWCNTs with nanosecond laser shots. Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, at 1064 nm having 10 ns duration, 5 Hz repetition rate, 50 mJ pulsed energy and 5 Jcm-2 energy density, induced Pd nanoparticles on the surface of MWCNTs. The aim is to characterize the laser-induced decoration of MWCNTs with Pd nanoparticles for various irradiation times. The structure and surface properties of the decorated MWCNTs and the yield of induced Pd nanoparticles are investigated by several characterization methods such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Brunauer- Emmett-Teller (BET). Carbon nanotubes are including metallic and semiconducting phases after synthesizing process. Therefore it is a very important issue which attracts researchers attention for separation of metallic and semiconducting carbon nanotubes. In this work, dielectrophoresis is suggested

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have found their uses in the biological sciences at molecular and cellular levels. Studies interfacing CNTs with biological molecules indicate that such interfaces can be established while the functions of biological molecules are preserved. In our study we used functionalization procedures to improve the solubility and biocompatibility of SWNT. PEI ( poly ethylene imine) have been extensively searched for its binding ability to plasmid due to positive surface charge of its porotonated amine groups in biologic pH and different vectors are synthesized by modifying PEI molecules to improve its viability . By attaching PEI to the surface of SWNT, synthesized vectors will be able to bind plasmid efficiently and internalize the cell without causing allergic reactions and can be used as delivery vehicles for gene delivery purpose.
