About tHE ARtISt:
Janie Trouche was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and spent her childhood in St. Petersburg, Florida and Columbia, South Carolina. She is married to a native Charlestonian and has lived in Charleston for over 30 years. Janie attended Salem College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Art History. Janie has studied with many local artists, is an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild, as well as a juried member of Oil Painters of America. She has exhibited in numerous shows and has won several awards. Artist Statement: “Working primarily in the studio, but also plein aire, I paint mainly landscapes of the Lowcountry, mountains, and places I have traveled. After working with pastels and watercolors, I have chosen oils as my preferred medium because of its texture and slow drying time.” To view more of Trouche’s work, visit her website at www.janietroucheart.com or email Janie at jtrouche@comcast.net.

COVER ART & PHOTOGRAPHY: The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission features a local artist’s work on the cover of each Quarterly Program Guide. If you are an artist and would like to submit digital files, slides, or photos of your artwork, please send them via regular mail (attn: Marketing - Cover Art) and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for their return. Artwork is also viewed via email at nlau@ccprc.com. We do not pay for cover artwork, but we do publish a short bio of the artist with information on how he/she can be contacted. The selected artist also receives a Gold Pass, which provides vehicular entry into seven Charleston County Parks for an entire year.
Printed on Recycled Paper. We encourage the recycling of this publication... either to a friend or to your recycling center. Thank you.
