Born on 15 November 1965 at the Penang General Hospital. He joined the Department of Social Development, Faculty of Human Ecology, University of Agriculture, Malaysia (UPM) on December 18, 1995. Before that, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Usuluddin, Islamic Academy, University of Malaya (1986-1990) and obtained his Bachelor of Usuluddin (Hons.) and received a Masters Degree (Islamic Studies) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (1994) and Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in 2000. He currently serves as the Principle of the College Fifth, Universiti Putra Malaysia (since 1 September 2012) and Lecturer at the Department of Nationhood and Civilization Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology, University Putra Malaysia. He teaches Ethnic Relations course and Islamic Civilization and Asian Civilization (TITAS) at degree level. He has taught courses such as Malaysia Nationhood, thinking and reasoning, and the Development of Social Science in Islamic Civilization. He has also taught courses in Research Methodology at postgraduate level. He was also invited to deliver lectures in postgraduate courses at the Institute of Halal Products, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He involved in many joint research partners other researchers in the field of integrity, drugs addiction and relapse, 1Malaysia, social interaction, history, politics, the revival of Islam, and Muslim and NonMuslim relations. During young age, he was entrusted to hold a large position; Director of the Islamic Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (2003 to 2010 - including Acting Director), a record in the history of the University Putra Malaysia. In 2011, he was awarded a fellowship funds from the European Union (European Union countries) as a visiting scholar under the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Eurasia2 Partnership Program, EM A2 which is a joint program between selected universities internationally where scientists and social scientists get opportunities for research and collaboration in the country which is a member of the European Union countries. He has also appeared in television and broadcast; namely Astro Oasis (Lessons From the Holy Land), TV3 (Al-Kuliyyah) and RTM2 (State of Mind). He was also a guest speaker in "live" Al-Hidayah by Radio Malaysia Perak for a year. Articles and news highlighting his opinion also appeared and published in the official newspaper of University Putra Malaysia; Tribun Putra, Voice of the Islamic Center UPM, Utusan Malaysia (daily newspaper), New Straits Times (daily newspaper), Kosmo (widely distributed daily newspaper), Bernama (Malaysian news agency) and New Straits Times (daily news paper).

While studying at the University of Malaya (1986-1990), he served in several key positions, whether at the college, faculty or university. He was the Director of the Army and Police Exhibition in conjunction with University of Malaya Convocation(1989), the Secretary Lujnah Usuluddin, Faculty of Usuluddin, Islamic Academy, the University of Malaya and a member of Pantai Puri Residential College, University of Malaya. At Universiti Sains Malaysia, he was the member of the Association of Postgraduate Students of Universiti Sains Malaysia (PERSILA). He was also a social issues specialist for the Department of Islamic Advancement Malaysia (JAKIM). He was also the Expert Panel Module Training and Development Volunteer of Al-Falah, Islamic Da'wah Foundation Malaysia (YADIM) (since 16 October 2003). He also served as Evaluator courses of Social Sciences and Applied Arts for the National Accreditation Board (LAN), Private Higher Education Institutions from 27 November 2001 to 26 November 2003. His interest and expertise are reflected in the academic and intellectual discourse with hundreds of talks, courses, workshops and presentations either at national or international level. At the national level, he was a member of the Implementation Committee Compliance Of MAMPU, Putra Mosque, Putrajaya (2003-2007), chaired by the Hon. Dato 'Muhammad bin Mohd Nor, Deputy Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister. He was also a committee member of the Ulama and Scholars of Malaysia (NUIM) (2004-2010) and a member of dozens of committees at the Universiti Putra Malaysia. He also has contributed a lot of energy and ideas in the context of professional services to the community, among them as Nazir (Chairman) of the Universii Putra Malaysia Mosque, Serdang, Selangor (2004-2011) and Vice President of the Association of Parents and Teachers of Religious Secondary School (SAM10) , Mile 10, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (2009). He also served as the Vice Chairman, Member of the Central Working Committee and think tank, Islam Hadhari Foundation (2005-2008) and Special Speakers for Human Development Foundation (2010). Lastly but not least, he was elected as speaker in the Nation Building Program (PEMBINA) organized by the Secretariat of the Council for Leadership and Training Universities Commission (MAKLUM) at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Pertanika Journal of Social Science and Humanities since 2009, Assessor for Islamiyyat Journal, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2007), Assessor for MALIM Journal (2012), National University of Malaysia, and editor for Journal of Environmental Assessment as well as assessor for Jurnal Sri Alam published by Perbadanan Adat Istiadat dan Warisan Negeri Selangor (PADAT) (2011-2012). He was also appointed as assessor of books published by the Publisher of Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and was appointed as the book assessor by the Chief Librarian, Library of Sultan Abdul Samad, Universiti Putra Malaysia. At international level he is a member of the Editorial Board (Editorial Board Member), International Journal of Environment, Ecology, Family and Urban Studies (IJEEFUS) [Since August 5, 2011] and the Editorial Board Member, Journal of Environment,

Ecology, Family and Urban Studies (JEEFUS) [Also since August 5, 2011]. He is also the Associate Editor, International Journal of the Humanities (since 2011). At present, he is also the supervisor or co-supervisor to six post graduate students. He has been a supervisor of project papers to many final year students in the Faculty of Human Ecology. His expertise was also brought in and outside of the University Putra Malaysia. He was the External Examiner of Masters and PhD thesis at Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universiti Malaya, including the University Putra Malaysia. He was also the course coordinator Islamic and Asian Civilisation (TITAS) to at least ten private higher education institutions. He is also a former adviser to the Muslim Students Association of Universiti Putra Malaysia (2004-12 July 2012) and the Persatuan Pentas Ilmuan , Universiti Putra Malaysia (2004-2005). He was also a Fellow of the Second College, University Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor began March 8, 1996 to December 15, 1996. In recognition of his services to the community and society in the state of Selangor, he was awarded the Medal of Devotion Service (PJK) by His Majesty the Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Sultan of Selangor in 2009. He also was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his contributions as Director of the Islamic Center of the University, Universiti Putra Malaysia (February 2010), Award for Excellent Service in Universiti Putra Malaysia (2007), Registrar Secretariat Award, Smiling Campaign by the Office of the Registrar, University Putra Malaysia (2008), the Award for Distinguished Service (2006), Faculty of Human Ecology, University Putra Malaysia and a Certificate of Appreciation For the Contribution For Quality Assurance of Registrar Office(2008). In the context of research, he has also won the silver medal in the Exhibition of Invention, Research and Innovation UPM 2010 and 2011 (PRPI10), Silver Medal Exhibition of Invention, Research and Innovation UPM (2005), Bronze Medal Exhibition of Invention, Research and UPM Innovation (2004), Distinguished Service Award Recipient (Academic Staff) Faculty of Human Ecology (2002), and the Bronze Medal, Exhibition UPM Invention and Research (2002). He also received an award of Bumiputera Academic Training Scheme [SLAB] (Scholarship), the Public Service Department and Universiti Putra Malaysia (1996-2000), Graduate Assistant Scheme, Graduate School, University of Science Malaysia (1992-1993), Graduate Assistant Scheme, School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia (1991-1992), Federal College Scholarship, Ministry of Education and the University of Malaya (1986-1990), Best Student Award Certificate Examination Taujihiyyah (STU), the Federal Territory Religious School, Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (1985 - Boarding School - SBP) and Best Student Award Certificate of Education (SPM), National Religious Secondary School of AlMashoor (Male), Jalan Air Itam, Penang (1983).
