Vision
Our
vision
is
to
be
the
leading
CSR
Entity
in
India
in
the
Corporate
Social
Responsibility
(CSR)
Advisory
and
Practices.
Today,
the
Impact
of
the
Businesses
on
Environment
and
Society
is
even
more
profound
as
India
seeks
to
develop
its
economy
to
catch
up
with
the
first
world.
Our
Goal
is
to
be
Catalyst
in
the
Sustainable
Development
so
that
Corporate
Social
Responsibility
defines
the
DNA
of
each
and
every
Business
in
India.
We
understand
that
an
Enterprise
cannot
continue
to
prosper
without
consideration
for
its
Environmental
and
Social
Performance,
and
will
have
to
strive
to
Protect
and
Improve
the
Global
Environment
and
pursue
Sustainable
Development
through
all
aspects
of
its
Business
Activities.
We
will
Endeavor
to
increase
value
of
Indian
Businesses
by
helping
them
adopt
the
Best
Global
Standards
&
Practices
in
the
field
of
CSR.
We
believe
that
a
Good
CSR
can
help
companies
Reduce
Costs
and
Mitigate
their
Risks.
We
also
understand
that
without
Governmental
support
such
ideas
will
not
culminate
into
reality
until
unless
Government
actually
gets
involved
in
monitoring
and
supervising
and
yet
seen
to
be
making
it
voluntary.
Given
our
huge
intrinsic
Knowledge
of
Government
working,
we
wish
to
Educate
and
Facilitate
Government
in
ensuring
Global
Best
Practices
and
Framework
for
India
which
is
comparable
to
the
Best
in
the
World
and
at
the
same
time
these
Standards
have
distinct
India
Flavor. Path
Forward The
CSR
Standards
and
Practices
are
still
at
a
nascent
stage
in
India,
we
think
that
there
is
huge
potential
in
the
field
of
CSR
Advisory
Practices.
As
Indian
companies
internationalize,
more
and
more
companies
will
adhere
to
the
Best
CSR
Practices
so
that
they
are
known
as
Credible,
Responsible
and
Ethical
Corporations.
We
will
like
to
see
that
at
least
70%
of
top
companies
and
50%
of
upcoming
SMEs
are
our
clients
in
three
years
time. We
will
like
to
see
ourselves
as
developing
Index
for
Good
for
companies
listed
at
Indian
Stock
Exchanges
and
accordingly
we
have
started
dialogue
with
the
Bombay
Stock
Exchange.
In
order
to
be
Leader
and
not
a
Follower,
it
is
always
envisaged
that
Education
will
play
a
central
role.
Accordingly,
the
Indian
Centre
for
CSR
has
acquired
10
acres
of
land
in
Ratnagiri
in
the
state
of
Maharashtra
to
develop
a

to
impart

Accordingly, we have tied up some of the very credible names in India and Europe to spearhead this very important initiative with Best Global Inputs. In order to support, facilitate and educate Government on setting up a distinct desirable India standards, we have started taking inputs from Research Scholars, Subject Matter Experts and leading world CSR organizations including that of Ethical Corporation, CSR Company and Centre for Sustainability Excellence who are currently advising their respective Governments and Global Bodies. For a company to be perceived as Credible & Ethical, it needs to demonstrate its commitment for People, Planet and Society. We are tying-up with the leading Global Entity who has knowledge and expertise, to encourage the organizations within India to display CSR Label", which itself will demonstrate the commitment of the organizations towards People, Planet and Society. We believe Indian Centre for CSR will be able to generate significant Revenues running into several hundreds of million dollars for itself and its Partners. CSR - given its important role in shaping the Best Practices in Business, would eventually require a lot of support in terms of Assimilation and Dissemination of CSR Knowledge and Information. Accordingly, at Indian Centre for CSR we would continue Organizing Seminars, Workshops, Training - so as to keep organizations abreast of Global Best Practices and Knowledge. This will remain one of our central activities. These Seminars and Conference would also involve and include our Global Partners to keep Global perspective and Best Practices available to Indian audiences at all times. We also envisaged the need to bring in "Best Standards for India." India needs to build its own Standards given the complexities of Indian Market and Government Structure. While attempts are being made by European organizations in particular to thrust their Framework and Standards, we feel its the right time for India to build their own Standards and Framework. The Trade and Commerce Bodies are tying-up with such entities to create a demonstrable Framework, which itself is a question-mark, as primary role of these Trade and Commerce Bodies will always remain facilitation and promotion of Businesses' and Not CSR. People in India will understand this eventually; once it is articulated "Performers should never become Evaluators."
