JESUS
(FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION)
By:
Let us take this wonderful, faith building song before going into the
message of today. The song talks about my mountain moving God. You should know it,
so, let us sing it together – “Greater that all my problems, greater than
anything; God is greater than any mountain, you can or cannot see. 2x.” Sing it
again and again until you feel the move of the Holy Spirit in you.
Thank God for this important moment we are to hear from Him. It is a moment God
ordained to move away all your “mountains” no matter how tall and big they are.
God is greater than all of them! Hallelujah!
God has a message for you today. It is a message of hope; a message of
encouragement; a message of comfort and a message that will help you live a
successful, purposeful, holy Christian life here on earth.
For the interest of those of you who want to go by titles, the tile of my message
today is “HOW TO MOVE YOUR MOUNTAINS”.
Do you know what I call “mountains”? they are all kinds of problems, hardships,
sicknesses, ill-treatment, personality breakages and divers kind of afflictions.
You can also call them temptations, trials or testing. It all depends on how you
look at them.
The primary aim of Satan’s attack is to obstruct your movement with God thereby
stealing your blessings. The devil can attack you with any size of his
“mountains”. Note that mountains belong to the devil; he only attacks you with
them just as a soldier fights with his weapons of warfare.
Some of you believe that “mountains” are yours. No! they are not. Somebody said to
me, “Pastor, please pray for me, I have headache”. And I said, “I am not praying
for you because I don’t want to be covetous”. If you have headache, go home with
it. But if you believe that Satan has it, send it back to him” Hallelujah! Friend,
Satan only attacked you with that “mountain”, it is his weapon of warfare. It can
be removed! Every problem has a solution. Press the right button – THE BITLE – and
you will find the solution.
Every problem is a stranger including that which you are passing through NOW. Of
course, you know that every stranger must go no matter how long it stays.
Therefore, stop climbing or resting at those “mountains” rather, remove them. Yes!
They can be removed.
Sometimes when you are faced with a lot of difficulties, you become discouraged;
it appears to you as though your prayers are unanswered. Doubts arise within you.
You begin to think about the worthwhileness of serving an “absent” Christ.
Beloved, be courageous. After today you will begin to turn your impossibilities
into possibilities.
Somebody says “Pastor you don’t understand. I am just passing through this hell as
a normal course of Christian life”. Friend, a line of demarcation has to be drawn
between your temptation and the mountain I am talking about today. I believe that
every person will experience all kinds of trials, tests or temptations. Temptation
does not necessarily mean solicitation to sin, but it is a testing of character.
God allows it to test the genuine element in one’s professed faith. Even in the
midst of temptations, you are born to sin – I John 5:4 says – “For whatsoever is
born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the
world, even our faith”. You see, your temptations can be removed from your way.
What of when you are deliberately attacked by Satan? Do you want to tell me that
poverty, chronic and all kinds of nasty problems are there for you enjoyment? God
forbid! They can be REMOVED!
Let us stop here and go to the Bible – Our Heavenly Constitution.
The Christian race can be likened to the exodus of the children of Israel from
Egypt through the wilderness to the Promised Land. I would like us to examine
closely the attitude of the Israelites toward mount Horeb or Seir. It is recorded
in the book of Deuteronomy thus – “The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb,
saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount” – Chapter 1:6. Again in chapter 2
verses 2-3, we read – “ And the Lord spake unto me saying, Ye have compassed this
mountain long enough: turn you northward.”
The Israelites were satisfied with the condition they found themselves at the
bottom of mount Horeb. Little did they know that it was the desire of Satan to use
that to obstruct their movement unto higher grounds. What is your attitude toward
that problem? Do you take it as part of life? Do you feel you can not go beyond
that limit? God said to the Israelites – “Turn you, and take your journey, and go
to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the
plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to
the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river
Euphrates. {all...: Heb. all his neighbours} Behold, I have set the land before
you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them. {set: Heb.
given}” Deut. 1:7-8
That condition and position is not your end. You can go beyond that therefore, do
not just get satisfied and take it as part of your life. You are born to win.
Arise and posses the land (your rightful place) which the Lord has promised you.
Do not be passive any longer.
If God has promised you healing, prosperity, family stability, break-through in
your ministry and business, and so on; these are your promised land and the
Canaanites and Lebanon which God has set before you and His commandment is – “go
in and possess the land.” Why are you then satisfied at the bottom of mount Horeb?
Friend, that sickness, poverty, family instability, unsuccessful ministry and
business, are like Satan’s strategy to obstruct your movement with God. Refuse it
and be patient enough to learn how to move them from your way.
Jesus knew that there must be mountains on our ways. So, He took some time to
teach us the steps to mountain removal. In the book of Mark chapter 11:12-14, we
read these words - “And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was
hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might
find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for
the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat
fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.”
You may begin to imagine why Jesus cursed the fig tree for having no fruit thereon
when it is clear that it was not the time for figs. There is always a purpose for
every thing the Lord does. He did this to teach us how aggressive we can be to the
devil whenever we discover that he is obstruction our movement with one mountain
or the other.
Jesus, the Bible says was hungry on His way to Jerusalem. The hunger was not
killing. He could as well have taken a meal when He got to Jerusalem. But when He
saw the fig tree with leaves, He was attracted to it. Tradition holds it that when
there are leaves on a fig tree, there must be figs on it. But in the case of this
particular tree, there were leaves but no fig. this is a kind of Satan’s
deception. The beautiful leaves on the fig tree attracted Jesus thereby
distracting Him from His course. He was therefore grieved in the Spirit hence the
curse upon the tree. How true is this in our journey to eternal life today? The
devil most of the times suggests a counterfeit solution to problems we are facing
in life. Satan’s solution to problems always takes one out of the way of God. That
also is a mountain which can be removed. Get grieved, and behave like Jesus!
Jesus succeeded in His ministry because He never climbed and rested upon any
mountain, neither was He satisfied at the bottom of it. Because He succeeded, you
must also succeed. Only follow His footsteps. The Bible records further - “And in
the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And
Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which
thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in
God. {Have...: or, Have the faith of God} For verily I say unto you, That
whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the
sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which
he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say
unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive
them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought
against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven
forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:20-26.
In the above text, Jesus gave us the assurance that the mountains MUST be removed
if only we will take these steps –
STEPS TO MOUNTAIN REMOVAL
1. LOOK INTO THE WORD OF GOD
As I said earlier, every problem has a solution. This solution can only be found
in the Word of God – The Bible. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy and said –
“Study to show theyself approve unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Private and corporate Bible study is a vital step to mountain removal. As you
study the Word of God, you will know the mind of God concerning that problem.
Satan will find it difficult to deceive you with his craftiness because you will
“be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried away with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait
to deceive;” Ephesians 4:14.
I therefore encourage you “that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye,
being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what
is the breath, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ,
which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:17-19.

The name of Jesus is a weapon only to those who receive Him as Lord and personal
Saviour. You can be one of those victorious people who find it so easy to move
mountains in the name of their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
If you have made up your mind to receive Jesus and be born-again, here are the
steps to follow-
1. Realize you are a sinner who needs to be saved from the wrath to come. The
Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.”
Isaiah 53:6.
2. Realize your penalty for sin is death. There is no way a sinner can go
unpunished. “For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23. “And as it is appointed
unto men once to die, but after this the judgement.” Hebrews 9:27
3. Confess your sins to God alone and believe that He has forgiven you
according to His word. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” John 1:9
4. Realize that Christ paid your penalty. “But God commendeth His love towards
us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8. “For God
so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
5. Repent; receive Him who paid your penalty. “Repent ye therefore, and be
converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall
come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19.
6. Accept Christ by faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that
not of yourselves it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8.
7. You must then confess Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. “That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.” Romans 10:9, 10.
Once again God is saying, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord;
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red
like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18.
There is a need therefore, for you to call on the Lord in Prayer. If you cannot
pray on your own, below is a sinner’s prayer who honestly repents. You can truly
it your own confession; pray thus-
Heavenly Father, I come before your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. I
am sorry for my sins. I confess to you this day that I am a sinner, forgive me
according to your promise. I accept and trust in the finished work of your Son
Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Set me free Lord, and take control of my
life henceforth. Thank you for saving me. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Did you realize what you have just done? If so, congratulations and welcome to
God’s family in Christ Jesus. Once again, I pray that the Holy Spirit will grant
you deeper revelation of the Sonship and Lordship of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
God bless you forever!
