The most challenging part was finding sources that related to my topic close enough that they would be useful. There is plenty of information out there the challenge is be able to pick through and find the best information. The annotated bibliography wasnt bad because I had done some back in high school and I remember vaguely what I did then. The MLA is never fun and is always a place of weakness because I havent had to deal with it that much.

My annotations could be improved by adding more detail and better insight about the authors. The writing is organized but might not flow that easily. I believe I do fulfill the requirements but I probably need to elaborate more on the concepts I talked about in the annotations. I summarized each article and touched on the credibility of each source. Usefulness I didnt touch on as much. I dont have any questions about my annotations yet.

I would have to say they all are strong, but the book source was probably the best. It went into more detail about a wider range of information than the rest

of the information did. It covered all aspects of the organic food style not just one small part like most other research does.

Aubrey, Allison and Dan Charles. Why Organic Food May Not Be Healthier for You. NPR. (2012). 26 Sept. 2012. The writers begin by describing how big the organic food market is. The millions of dollars that are being spent on organic products have no bases. They continue to say that there is no really evidence of there being a difference between organic and conventional. Over 200 studies were compiled and determined that move evidence was needed. The only evidence that was show was the lower level of pesticides in organic food. Continuing to add that the conventional food never exceed the legal limit for pesticides. The only help is for new breeds of food. There was some bias towards organic food not being healthier. The reference is credible because of the layers of research used to make the article. Brandt found that there is no real evidence that supports that organic food is healthier. If youre an adult there is no difference between conventional and organic food. Michele says that price alone makes the consumer feel like because it is more expensive that it must be healthier. There is no increase in the amount of vitamins or other nutrients. The only difference support by real studies is that organic has less risk for pesticides. This source is credible because they base their information on hundreds of different research studies and compile them into their conclusions. Also, all the people that are getting conclusions from the research studies are all PHDs on the topic and have vast knowledge themselves. The PHDs all come from Stanford university which is a very prestigious university in its self.

The organic food industry has increased extremely more every year. One of the other factors in growing organic is the weather. It can cause change in the quality of the produce. Way few amounts of organic foods have any residue from insecticides than conventional foods. Organic food also has an increase in omega 3 and omega 6. Organic dairy has a lower amount of eczema. This author seemed very credible because he showed both side of the argument evenly. It is an article in a medicine journal so the credibility is more believable.

The article goes on to explain the standards for organic. Organic is broken up into two categories. There is fresh and processed organic food. Also, not all-organic food is one hundred percent organic. Organic food can mean that there is ninety five percent organic means. The article finishing by saying there is not enough research. There is very little bias in this article. It is a credible source because it is from a university and it uses the U.S. department of agriculture as a reference.

Gillman and Heberling begin by addressing how the government defines food and how the government defines organic food. Is organic safer under what the government is saying? Also, because organic is seen as a special item it is more expensive than conventional food. They go on to talk about a movement when organic food was being pushed that they didnt care what was in the products they just wanted the organic label on more food. The agencies differed on what was considered organic and wasnt considered organic. Organic started as the soil being organic but now has changed into a style of farming. But the government never claims that organic food is actually healthier than conventional food. Organic pesticides and fertilizer is made of reusable resources but has to be reapplied more because they protect plants for a shorter amount of time. The nutrients in organic food also arent as different as what would be believed. They are both a little biased towards organic food not being that great. They do show the other side but not s much. Web. 25 Sept. 2012 The article begins by saying the two differences in organic food. There are higher levels pesticides in conventional food. Also, There are a higher percentage of nutrients in organic food than conventional. The more the food travels determines how fresh it is and how many nutrients are still in the produce. The article goes on to say there is no conclusive evidence that points to organic being healthier. Lippert shows some bias because there is some lack of evidence towards organic food not being healthier. It is a good reference because the references used to write the article are from universities around the country.
