THIS YEAR
(175 full + 6 half) student attendance days = 178 days (7 full + 6 half) professional development days = 10 days 2 parent-teacher conference days Total = 190 DAYS The high school day is 435 minutes long. (8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.)
So, for the year, that would be 183 x 421 = 77,043 minutes Now, let's do the percentage! 82,650 is what % of 77,043 ?
So, for this year, that would be 190 x 435 = 82,650 minutes
But why are we only getting a 3.00% raise for working an extra 7.28% ? To be compensated fairly, this is what should occur:
1) By working 183 days last year, and adding 7.28% to that total, it would be the equivalent to working 196.32 days. 2) Adding to this the 10 holidays that we were paid, means that we should be paid for 206.32 days at last year's rate. 3) Add to this the 10 vacation days, and we are up to 216.32 days. 4) Now, this is where we should calculate the 3% raise. Factoring it in, that would bring the total up to getting paid at last year's rate for 222.81 days. (216.32 x 1.03 = 222.81)
