support which the spouses give to Rotary Clubs and presented three “Rotary Rocks” awards to Mary Sue Erickson; Lou Roessler and Linda May. The Governor made three major points in her message: l. Rotary must complete the Polio Plus immunization program. We have made tremendous progress in 27 years, and the task of a polio-free world is nearly ended. 2. Are you doing all you can for your Rotary Club? She emphasized that each member must have a worthwhile job to do for their Club. Each person can make some contributions to the Club in a voluntary way; and should be appropriately acknowledged and recognized. 3. Rotary must be shared with others. Governor Laura asked several members how different their life might be without Rotary. We all receive benefits from Rotary and it should be shared with friends and other community leaders. In concluding, she told of the success of the “Kenya Smiles” dental project and was given an additional contribution from Moraga Rotary. She also “introduced” by description, the Rotary International President of this year, Sakuji Tanaka of Japan and pointed out the very significant theme he selected for the year -- “Peace Through Service.” The Club expressed great appreciation for the excellent presentation, dedication and enthusiasm of the Governor!

OTHER HAPPENINGS

Christmas Stocking Stuffing & Pot-luck will be on Sunday, December 16 at Trinity Hall at 5:00. Sign-up to attend and note your contribution to the dinner. 3. THIS WEEK’S PROGRAMS
Today was the official visit to our Club by our District Governor, Laura Day, a member of the San Ramon Valley Rotary Club. The Rotary world is divided into 530 Rotary Districts. The position of the District Governor is to be a helpful and friendly advisor to the 71 Rotary Clubs within District 5160 and to make a visit to each of the Clubs. Governor Laura congratulated Moraga Rotary for several of our excellent projects, including the Employee of the Month program; the Christmas Stocking project for Juvenile Hall; several special public relations activities and leadership in donating to the District’s “Kenya Smiles” program to enhance dental care and education in Africa. She acknowledged the special

HAPPY BUCKS AND OTHER FUN STUFF
For $65, Frank May soundly defeated Mary Elena & Cliff Dochterman in rather sedentary bidding on the December “Fine Free Hat.” Jim Campbell had a happy buck for the great work at the Juvenile Hall last week in preparing the Christmas Stockings. Mary Elena had a “high $5” for her daughters taking her to do Christmas shopping in a less strenuous manner. Gary Irwin chipped in a happy buck for some good football games this past week-end including Stanford and Kansas St.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Kevin Reneau made the November Employee of the Month presentation to Robert Martin, a three year employee of the Moraga UPS store and other local establishments. Joining in the award event was Doug Meyer, owner of the UPS store. Gift certificates of $100 were presented to the award recipient. Mr.Meyer expressed how efficient and pleasant Robert Martin is in serving their customers. To top it off, the recipient Robert Martin was the holder of the red ticket, but the white marble eluded him, so he settled for $10.

KUDOS OF THE WEEK
Our most sincere appreciation goes to the 15 members and spouses who braved the stormy weather last Saturday to go to the Juvenile Hall to decorate the Christmas stockings. As usual, it was a busy time as some 20 residents of the Hall joined in adding colorful Holiday designs and decorations to the 350 stockings. It might be said that the artistic talent was not evenly divided among the workers! So, hearty “Thanks” to those who assisted in the project: Jim & Linda Campbell, Kevin & Pam Reneau, Frank & Linda May, Colin Barnard, Vickie Devlin, Louise Schopke, Gary Irwin, Tony Schoemehl, Debbie & Lou Roessler, and Cliff & Mary Elena Dochterman. Everyone who works on the Stocking Project is helping to make the Christmas Holiday just a little bit brighter for some kids in our community. So, thanks for doing your part in the stocking project.

EDITORIAL COMMENT
As I think of all the things we have to do before the Holidays and finish before the end of the year, this little rhyme comes to mind: There may be nothing wrong with you,
The way you live, the work you do; But I can very plainly see Exactly what is wrong with me.

The morning goes, the noon is here, Before I know, the night is near. And all around me, I regret Are things I haven’t finished yet. I work as hard as anyone And yet I get so little done. I’d do so much – you’d be surprised, If I could JUST GET ORGANIZED!

“See ya’ next Tuesday evening at the Moraga Rotary Christmas Party…!!

So, don’t procrastinate, just wait till tomorrow and get started.
