INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH

1.1 INTRODUCTION
HRIS is a tool used for recruitment of people, making new policies and making the Human Resource work easier and simpler to support administrative personnel functions, performance management, employee relations and resource planning. Each company has a different set of circumstances, and so develops an individual set of human resource policies which can help organization to compete with the competitive world.

1.2 NEED OF THE STUDY
There is a need for identifying the effectiveness of the HRIS technology in the HR department of the organization. To know the technological preference of the employees and there technological know-how.

1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 1) To determine the effectiveness of HRIS in Café Coffee Day. 2) To analyze how effectively human resource information system adjust itself with human resource department. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES 1) To know the attribute which affects human resources. 2) To know the influence of Human Resources Information System in the human resource department.

1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This study concentrates in examining HRIS as a tool for effective management in achieving simplicity and economy in time and cost, at Café Coffee Day Chennai branches.

1.5 REVIEW OF PREVIOUS STUDY
No previous study has been done on this topic.

1.6 HYPOTHESIS
It is a proposed statement which is yet to be proved. It is a testable statement which may include prediction. The hypothesis is said for the following study.

Human resource information system makes the human resource management simple and easier.

H1

Human resource information system doesn’t make the human resource management simple and easier.

1.7 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
1.7.1 Definition of Research Design Research Design is purely and simply the framework or plan for a study that guides the collection and analysis of data. The function of research design is to ensure that the required data are collected in accurate and economical manner.

1.7.2 Exploratory Research Exploratory studies are used whenever there is a limited knowledge about an area of which a useful hypothesis cannot be formulated. Exploratory research is designed to find what customers have in their minds. Therefore this type of research gives an absolute accuracy in the statistical data. The research design adopted in the study was exploratory research.

1.8 TOOLS FOR COLLECTING DATA
The questionnaire prepared contains questions to a certain aspect of the selection process and policies.

1.9 SAMPLING METHOD
The complete review of all 15 managers from three major branches of Café Coffee Day in Chennai.

1.10 GEOGRAPHICAL AREA TO BE COVERED
The study has been conducted in Chennai city branches of Café Coffee They are located in Nungambakkam, Anna Nagar and Gopalapuram. Day.

1.11 REFERENCE PERIOD
The reference period of this project is limited to the period from December, 2010 to March, 2011.

1.12 FRAME WORK OF ANALYSIS
The framework of analysis consists of percentage analysis with the support of pie diagrams and charts.

1.13 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
a. The time schedule given to the researcher was too short. b. Respondent might not have revealed their true opinion regarding the exact selection process and polices of the organization. c. The study depends on the availability of information and co-operation of respondents in organization.
