. Summary of Research done into general information about music magazines Music magazines reflect the musical trends within the time it is written in. They are very much aimed at a particular target audience as they usually stick to one main genre of music. They can vary from vulgar to sophisticated. Most significantly the magazines market must be aware of AIDA A Attract audience, use of bright colours, image and text I Interest, articles and sell lines should entice the audience. D Desire, lure the reader by adding competitions, posters or give freebies A Act people to buy your product, motivate them into purchasing, for example, creating a sense of urgency with a limited-time offer or limited supply.

I have also found that magazines should contain either free gifts, competitions or both. I shall include these in my own magazine.

GENERAL INFO Most of my target audience regularly buy music magazines and I therefore have a good basis of what they like within them. This will be a great help in making my own magazine. Having summarized these results I am now ready to complete my formal proposal and start planning my own music magazine.
