Each volume of the new All Star Extra series contains 8 complete ECCE practice tests with an abundance of extra material designed to provide students with the chance to continue building their competency in each of the areas tested on the exam. Note: Roughly 75% of the content of Volume 1 and 90% of the content of Volume 2 is brand new material not found in our previous editions! Grammar and vocabulary items as well as reading, writing and speaking tasks have been thoroughly updated and are now totally in line with the current ECCE format and level of difficulty. Extra Features: Extra practice tests: Each book now has 8 practice tests (compared to 6 in our original editions). A fresh new look: We have updated the design and added full-color illustrations and photos. Exam Preparation & Practice Tests: ECCE

Michigan Skills Builder for the ECCE
DIANE FLANEL PINIARIS

Weve completed several books of ECCE practice tests, but my students still dont remember the vocabulary and the finer grammar points that are often tested in the exam. What can I do? Michigan Skills Builder for the ECCE was written to help students overcome this common problem. It consists of 6 units and 2 tests that build up and consolidate the vocabulary, grammar and other skills students need to pass the ECCE. What does the Skills Builder do? It expands the students active vocabulary through careful presentation and systematic recycling in a subject-related context. The 12-page vocabulary sections in each unit are based on the simple premise that only through constant recycling in a meaningful context can students develop their active vocabulary. Focusing on one of the key topics that students often encounter in the ECCE and other standard exams, each section contains a carefully constructed series of definition-generating, blank-filling and exam-style multiple-choice exercises that present, practise and recycle almost 200 topic-related lexical items per unit. It consolidates the students grammar skills through revision and ECCE-style exercises. A Grammar Spotlight in each unit covers major grammar items, such as verb tenses, question formation, conditionals, wishes, modal verbs and inversion. Each section contains 4 pages of review and practice exercises as well as ECCE-style questions. It provides review and exam practice through 2 full-length ECCEstyle progress tests.

Each National Geographic Footprint Reader tells an exciting story based on real-world events. Here we show how the story of a Beluga whale calf in Arctic Whale Danger! is told for learners of English.
READ The text introduces the theme with an accessible first spread that introduces the key vocabulary and sets the story in its geographical context. The story is told in simple language (Level 1 contains 800 headwords), divided into sections and developed with varied exercises and organisational aids. These include predicting, scanning, skimming, checking facts, interpreting charts, sequencing events, identifying cause and effect, inferring meaning, summarising and more. Incredible photos taken from the DVD material and National Geographic archive encourage students to read on, while annotated illustrations extend students understanding. At the end of the reader, the After You Read feature provides a comprehension check. Relevant vocabulary is collated in a Vocabulary List. There is a final spread expanding on the topic in the format of a newspaper or magazine article, diary, job description, reports or as in Arctic Whale Danger! interviews.

LISTEN The audio programme, available packaged with individual readers and for each complete level, contains recordings of the full text of each reader, including the Expansion Readings. The Audio CD offers you the choice between British and American English. Suggested listening activities, for use with the Audio CDs, are included in the Teachers Book. WATCH The video footage for the texts is available in DVD format on Multi-ROMs supplied with the titles, or as a compilation of all videos for each level respectively. Depending on level, the length of the films varies from 3 to 13 minutes. They can be played with or without subtitles and in British or American English. The films can be used alongside the reading material or on their own, particularly with the support of materials in the Teachers Book.

These images are taken from a film sequence from Arctic Whale Danger! Will the beluga calf make it back to the sea?
