Two factors are crucial to getting team members to align themselves and commit to team aspirations: Ownership of the team’s goals and strategies Clarity of members’ roles and expected contributions. Ownership happens when team members feel a sense of community with their colleague. When team members know their team mates and share common sense of purpose with them, they become stake holders of the team’s fate. Clarity happens when they accept the difficult tasks together with the easy ones as they help the rest of the team pursue its goals. This workshop aims to help participants appreciate this need for alignment and commitment by appreciating the importance of shared goals and co-owned strategies for achieving them. The activities lined are designed to engage them and encourage co-creation of set of rules of engagement that will help them work more effectively as a team. Get your team to: Agree on what good teamwork looks like Strengthen trust to improve collaboration Establish rules of engagement for open communication Commit to common goals and strategies Establish accountability for performance and behavior that support team Focus on delivering positive results

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES
KNOW YOUR TEAM BETTER! Familiarity is an important ingredient in trust building and open communication. We facilitate individual and team assessment surveys to help your team understand the group’s current dynamics and the individuals that play a role in the team. Five Dysfunctions Team Climate Survey – This survey based on Patrick Lencioni’s book the “Five Dysfunctions of a Team” is a very powerful tool that helps members learn how strong or weak the following fundamentals are in their team; Trust, Communication, Commitment, Accountability and Focus on Result. Quick Team Profiling – This is a fun way of getting to know who the CONTROLLERS are in the team, who the ANALYSTS, the PROMOTERS and the TEAM PLAYERS are. It helps the team understand the personalities in the group and the value they bring to the team. Belbin Team Role Inventory – This team personality inventory designed by Dr. Meredith Belbin is a very useful tool to help assess the personalities in the team, their strengths, weaknesses and the value they bring to the group. Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Resolution Mode – Conflict resolution style self assessment tool can help your team understand how members deal with conflict. This is important in adjusting styles while collaborating with them. TAKE HOME THE LESSONS! The truth is, the real team building happens in the workplace. The workshop is a learning event where team members appreciate the rudiments of building a high performance team. At exeQserve, we make sure that your team brings home the lesson and have some prototype plans to work on to truly build their team at work! Norms Building – Team members agree on rules of engagement to build trust, address conflicts, holding meetings and sharing resources among others. Participants go home with clear understanding of how the game is played in the next round! Re-Entry Action Planning – The REAP helps the team harness the learning from the workshop by agreeing on a number of initial steps and projects to get the team building going in the workplace. Team Purpose Triangle – Interdepartmental teams and multifunctional teams clarify what each sub-unit must do to achieve the big team goal. This is a great way to rally the team to one common goal!
Our Process – The ExeQServe’s Way We work closely with our customers to come up with a tailor-fitted and results oriented team building intervention. We follow this process: 1. We meet with you to understand your current situation, your team challenges and your team building objectives We also try to understand your team make up, your expectations on the activities to be conducted and our level of involvement before and after the workshop. We conduct a design conference with our consultants to put together the best program given your objectives We shall submit a detailed proposal and present the program framework to your key stakeholders to help them appreciate the design and understand the role they are going to play in the entire team building process. After the workshop, we submit a comprehensive report that will help the leaders follow up on the team building commitments and facilitate the continuation of the team building process in the workplace.
