Re: Media query: PM's lawyer letters on blog posts about AIM
1 message Yawning Bread <email@example.com> To: Ng Jing Yng <firstname.lastname@example.org>, email@example.com Bcc: firstname.lastname@example.org I have received a letter of demand for take-down and apology from Davinder Singh of Drew and Napier, representing Lee Hsien Loong. The letter says that parts of my article, 'PAP mis-AIMed, faced blowback', dated 21 December 2012, are defamatory to Lee. The letter also cites 21 comments from readers beneath it, which the lawyer says are defamatory too. I will accept that they are defamatory and will take them down as requested, and put up a letter of apology. This should not distract from the issue of the sale of town council software to Action Information Management Pte Ltd. From what has been disclosed so far, reasonable people would have many questions, and while news of me getting a lawyer's letter might be temporarily more "newsy", it is more important for Singapore that these questions be answered, not avoided.
