Describe a piece of electronic equipment that you find useful.

You should say: What it is How you learned to use it How long you have had it and explain why you find this piece of electronic equipment useful.
Nowadays, with the development of the society and the development of technology, people’s lives become more and more convenient at their work as well as at their house. I think television is a piece of electronic equipment that I find very useful in life. It is very convenient and easy to use. You just turn it on and watch everything you want. My parents told me my house had the first television when my parents got married. Recently, we bought a new television because the old TV was out of date. I think TV is useful and convenient electronic equipment because you can watch and learn many things and you do not need to go outside. I think it is really out of the world when you just stay at home, but you can see many countries and many beautiful scenes which you have not to go to there. You can know much news around the world and you can learn about life through discovery channel. Besides that, through TV, I can see many poor people who have to burn the candle at both ends to earn money for their families or for themselves in order to find that I am very happy now. Those are the reasons why I think television is a piece of electronic equipment that I find useful.

IELTS Speaking 2 Min Topics with Sample Answers
Describe a game or sport you enjoy playing. You should say: • What kind of sport it is • Who you play it with • Where you play it • and explain why you enjoy playing it Sample answer:I enjoy playing various kinds of brain games online. There are a number of different websites I visit on a regular basis in order to play these games by myself. The objective of the games is to exercise different areas of your brain so that you preserve and enhance your memory and also expand and develop your brain capacity. The games are of various kinds. Some enable you to practice your verbal skills. Others test logical reasoning, spatial skills and visual memory. I can keep track of my scores, so that each time I play, my goal is to do better than in the past – to outdo myself, so to speak. In addition, if I want, I can compare my scores to others who play online. This aspect is intriguing, but frankly it doesn't interest me much. I

don&'t regard this as a competition with anyone else. It is something I do simply to sharpen my mental abilities and improve myself. In fact, one of my favorite games is supposed to be the best for brain fitness. It involves solving a number of simple math problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as quickly as possible. I really hope these games will enable me to preserve my intellect and my memory into old age. Describe someone in your family who you like. You should say: • How this person is related to you • What this person looks like • What kind of person he/she is • and explain why you like this person Sample answer:The person in my family I really like and also love is my mother. She is a very special person and I cannot imagine what I would be without her. Physically, my mother is petite. She is only about 5 feet tall, and weighs about 110 pounds. She has fine, black hair and a fair complexion. One thing people often notice is that my mother always takes pride in her appearance. Even now, at the age of 80, my mother is a well dressed, wellgroomed and elegant woman, with her fine choice of clothes and matching accessories, jewelry and shoes. Intellectually, my mother always loves learning. Even after her busy day, she won't go to bed without reading the newspaper. She was one of the few members of her family that completed university. She also has many creative and cultural interests such as literature, music and dance. Through her own enjoyment, she passed on this love of culture to all her children, including me. Emotionally, my mother has a heart of gold. All her life, she has been ready, willing and able to help anyone who needs anything, with a smile on her face. She is of the old school - she remembers to wish friends and relatives on their birthdays and anniversaries, she attends their weddings, dinners and parties, and she visits them when they're hurt, unwell or in mourning. In fact, my mother has always been a kind soul and people of all ages love her as soon as they meet her. I think this is because she is good-hearted from her core, and her authenticity is what everyone relates to. She has taught me the meaning of being compassionate, loving, kind, helpful, supportive and so much more. In fact, thanks to the unconditional love of both my wonderful parents, I feel I've been truly blessed in this lifetime.

Describe a competition that you took part in
There are many competitions that I took part in. And a competion I’d like to talk about is a game called “Big game”. In a camping trip to Phan Thiet with my classmates in the university last year, I played this game. It took place at 12pm sharp. There were five teams and each one had about 8 to 10 people. We had to pass seven stations and at each one, there were some requirements for each team to do. These requiments themselves made this game interesting. First, we did something such as using hands to pour the water into the bottle, using mouth to hold a spoon to move a lemon to other members and solving a secret letter at last. After that we moved to other station. It was so funny. We felt very happy to do these with our team. We were closer and knew more about

the others. These are also the reasons why I’d like to take part in this game. At that time, my team won the game but that was not the most important. The prize was a package containing a lot of cake and sweet. And we had memories that we never forget.

Describe an idea you had for improving something at work or college.
I am studying English to take the IELTS test and I realized that idioms and academic vocabularies are very important in speaking strategies. I had a good idea to use them effectively. In any topic I try to bring idioms and academic words simultaneously into my speech as a game between friends, or turn a location into an ideal place to learn idioms, even I can talk about idioms in anywhere at any time, etc. My crony and I have a book major in idioms and academic words so we prepare our own speech based on a topic and exchange them with each other. We like to talk about American English idioms such as “smell a rat, play it by ear, eating someone, dressed to the teeth, get in someone’s hair, for a song, paint the town red, etc”. Sometimes we play a game “who say as many sentences contain academic words as possible”. But the competition is drawn because both of us can give sentences galore. After a period using this way, not only my speaking skill makes fast progress but also the other skills are improved. I have not understood reading tests completely before because they have academic words galore. I could not speak fluently or express my thoughts because I had a very limited vocabulary. So learning and using academic words as well as idioms help me enlarge my vocabulary. Now speaking and writing and reading are easier for me. Describe an idea you had for improving something at work or college

I am a student at BU, which is well-known enough to most people. that is really a feather in my cap. However, its library is not good like I ised to imagine one in the famous university. When I come to the library, I think that it is better if something changes. Firstly, I suggest that university should improve the services in the library. i don't mean to put them down but the librarians and the staff there are sort of a cold fish. The second idea I put forward improving is that

there should be more new and abundant supply of books. the reason for this is that there are old books that have dim pages so it is hard for students to read them. Thirdly, they ought to turn on air-conditioning system in order to makes students more comfortable when they read books there. And last but not least , I see that the fees are higher year in, year out but there is no change to be better. Some students never come to the library but they must also pay the fees. I think the university should rethink the question of the library fee. In conclusion, if the university can improve these issues about library, they will help students study better.

Describe a party that you enjoyed
The party that I enjoyed very much was my 18th birthday. It was taken three months ago. My parents held this party for me at my home and I invited all my cronies to attend. To start the party, I blew out the candles on the birthday cake while everyone was singing the song Happy Birthday. After that, they gave some gifts, cards and best wishes to me. We ate a lot of delicious food and beverage. During the party, we played many funny games and this was a reason which made me like the party very much. One of the games that I won called "Finding idioms". I won because I found many strange and good idioms such as dance to another tune, raining cats or dogs, paint the town red, etc. At the end of the party, I opened all gifts and took a lot of photos with my cronies. This party was nothing but fun and games. However, it was beautiful and memorable.

Describe one of your friends
Talking about friends, I have friends galore. However, the person I would like to say today has many memories with me. We have been friends for 9 years, but best friends for 5 years. Actually, the first time I met her, I did not like her very much because she was a novice in my class. In secondary school, I could say that we were aggressors. We never talked to each other during 3 years. Subsequently, in high school, we were classmates inadvertently. From that, we had many chances to discuss lessons or chat together. Time flies. It’s been 5 years. Now, we are still best friends. She is very thin but tall. She is outgoing and get on well with people. When I have difficulties, she always besides me to help me extricate from those situations. She has a positive outlook on life. Therefore, she is the person whom I always turn to for advice. Nobody is perfect. Although sometimes we have controversies because of the difference in thinking, one of us will always take in lying down. There is a saying that, a friend in need is a friend indeed. I sure that our friendship will protract forever. What I would like to talk to my best friend is that whenever you need me, I will always be there rain or shine. Describe something that was recently reported in the news.
You should say: • what happened • who was involved and why you found this news interesting  The news which I am going to tell you is the news about the wonderful recovery of Japanese people after double-catastrophe which means earthquake and tsunami in this March. In the news, they showed two pictures of a street in Japan. The first was captured right after the disaster and it was almost destroyed by the natural disaster. The other was captured few days later and I was really surprised that they completed reconstructing the street after a short time. I was really attracted by the news because of reasons galore. Firstly, I felt sorry for Japanese citizens who had to face many natural catastrophes, which killed a lot of people and demolished thousands of houses. However, notwithstanding being in the most difficult situations, Japanese people still united with others and looked it on the bright side to rebuild their country. Their strong spirit and great efforts in rebuilding their country are worth to be followed. And last but not least, it is also a precious lesson which Vietnamese People should learn if we are in difficult conditions.
