All students Includes all programs, including APP (highly gifted), Spectrum (gifted), SpEd, and Bilingual. For
H-MAP score, samples include all students that had at least one MAP score in F09-W10-S10. Sample Size
is less than Total Enrollment, due to the fact that only about 69% of all SPS K-8 students had taken at least
one MAP test in the 2009-2010 school year.
The regression equation shown in the upper figure was used to calculate Predicted Grade. Thus,
performance of NFRL students is being used as the reference case.
Gifted program students are disproportionately NFRL; Bilingual students are disproportionately FRL; Special
Education students are somewhat more likely to be FRL than are Regular Education students. This is why, for
most scores, All Student/NFRL cohort outperforms Reg Ed NFRL cohort, while at the same time, All
student/FRL cohort performs worse than the Regular Ed FRL cohort.
