2D Seismic

Quality Control

Minimum attributes required for loading: 1. Navigation Data File (full CRS definition) in P1/90 or Seg-P1 format

Description
P1/90: Format for navigation data for seismic surveys. SEG P1 format: Format for Processed Navigation data of seismic surveys, exchangeable across various applications directly. Maps generated for QC of the survey and the data acquired. Ex: Initial QC - Survey post plot, shot point maps, Sequence map, Water bottom time map, Feathering angle map etc.

2. Survey Plat or Map for QC Purposes

3. Processing Reports

Seismic Processing Reports contain details about Project area/Block, Acquisition details, Objective of the Surveys, Processing sequence adopted and parameters used, QC figures and Final output details. A Seg-Y file comprises of EBCDIC header, Binary Trace Headers & Trace data. EBCDIC Header contains details of the Seg-Y file, acquisition & Processing details. Information corresponding to individual traces are stored in the trace headers positioned at different byte locations. Some of the key byte locations are mentioned below. Number which is assigned in the survey for source position and its location in the binary trace header. Byte location - 17-20 for Seg-Y

4. Fully populated EBCDIC & Binary Trace headers in SegY format with:

a. Shot Point numbers and Byte Location

statics etc Description f.format b. Shot points & dead channel information. Seismic Reference Datum 5. positional information of the survey area c. the reduction of Seismic data and velocities to this minimizes local topographic and near surface effects. X & Ys and byte locations Positional information of the survey converted to X & Y coordinates. Byte Location . An arbitrary reference surface.73-76 & 77-80 for X’ & Y ‘respectively Time difference between the successive samples of a seismic trace. CDP numbers and byte Location Common Depth Point numbers . OB’s and Survey Notes for field data 3D Seismic Quality Control Minimum attributes required for loading: . charge size.21-24 for Seg-Y format. Observer's Reports / Notes contain information related to acquisition activity and key information like energy source used. Sample Interval h. type etc. Latitude and byte location d. of times with different shot receiver combinations Byte location .Common location in the subsurface covered no. Longitude and byte location e. FFID relation with shot file number.
