This request only extends to materials generated within the 180 days preceding the date of this letter. For any information that you withhold pursuant to a particular Freedom of Information Act exception, please provide the specific justification. Please waive all fees in connection with this request. OutServe-SLDN is a non-profit legal aid and advocacy organization. OutServe-SLDN provides free legal counseling to military personnel who have an issue related to their sexual orientation or gender identity. OutServe-SLDN is called upon frequently by the media, government offices, government agencies and members of the public for information and analysis of LGBT issues in the military. This request qualifies for a waiver of fees because release of the information will contribute significantly to the publics understanding of the Department of Defenses policies affecting LGBT service members. That being said, we are willing to incur fees up to $250. We ask that you contact us after you have conducted your search, when you have better idea of what records may be responsive to our request, and you can make an intelligent and informed decision regarding a waiver.
