ABOUT US PETTIGREW TEA ROOMS Pettigrew Tea Rooms is named in honour of Mr Andrew Pettigrew, the man employed as Head Gardener to the Marquess of Bute atCardiff Castlebetween 1873 & 1903. This name perfectly heralds a new era in the life of the West Lodge which, for the first time, opens its doors to the public with our Tea Rooms, Gift Shop & Exhibition Space THE WEST LODGE The beautiful West Lodge was designed by the architect Alexander Roos & completed in 1863. The West Lodge was originally set back from Castle Street & flanked with curved entrance walls for a more stately appearance BUTE PARK & ARBORETUM Bute Park is internationally recognised for its Grade 1 listed historic designed landscape, scheduled ancient monument & arboretum with a wealth of archaeological & nature conservation. The park is currently undergoing a 5.6 million restoration project, supported by a 3.1 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the parks important features, provide new facilities & help tell the story of Bute Park
