  Tournament  Formats:  

  LEAGUE  TOURNAMENTS     Rally  for  the  Cure/  CHARITY  Tournament   A  $20  contribution  is  required  if  you  elect  to  participate  in  “Rally  for  the    Cure,”  a  national  grassroots  women’s  amateur   golf  program  which  benefits  the  Susan  G.  Komen  Breast  Cancer  Foundation.    Participants  may  opt  to  contribute  to   another  charity  of  their  choice.  Closest  to  the  pin  prize  will  be  awarded  by  the  Komen  Foundation  for  those  who   contribute  to  that  charity.    The  gift  will  be  matched  for  the  closest  to  the  pin  for  the  people  who  contribute  to  one  of   our  other  charities.     Participants  and  non-­‐participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.         Joan  Lovelace  Tournament  (TS)     All  players  must  post  their  score  as  a  tournament  score  in  the  computer.     This  is  a  handicapped  stroke  play  tournament  with  a  low  net  winner.      The  prize  will  be  presented  at  the  annual  awards   luncheon.   Participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.         Presidents  Cup   Two-­‐Week  Tournament  (TS)     All  players  must  post  their  score  as  a  tournament  score  in  the  computer.     Annual  two  week,  low  net  tournament.    The  award,  a  pewter  cup,  is  presented  to  the  winner  at  the  annual  awards   luncheon  to  hold  for  one  year.    Her  name  will  be  engraved  and  included  with  those  who  won  in  prior  years.       Participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.         CA  Tournament  (TS)     All  players  must  post  their  score  as  a  tournament  score  in  the  computer.     Play  as  twosomes.    Annual  stroke  play  tournament  with  a  low  gross  and  a  low  net  winner.    The  awards  are  presented  at   the  annual  awards  luncheon.     Participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.         League  Championship  –  Two-­‐Week  Tournament  (TS)   All  players  must  post  their  score  as  a  tournament  score  in  the  computer.     Play  as  twosomes.    This  is  a  flighted  tournament.    Flights  are  determined  so  that  there  are  3  flights  or  4  flights,   depending  on  the  number  of  individuals  signed  up  for  the  first  week  of  the  tournament.    Each  flight  will  consist  of  6  to   10  players.   The  two-­‐week  total  low  gross  scorers  are  the  tournament  winners.    No  handicap  strokes  are  given.       st nd rd Points  are  given  in  each  flight  as  20  points  for  1  place,  16  points  for  2  place,  and  5  points  for  3  place.     Participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.     Match  Play   Multi-­‐week  Tournament   All  players  must  post  their  score  as  a  tournament  score  in  the  computer.     Play  as  twosomes.    This  is  a  flighted  tournament.    Flights  are  determined  so  that  there  are  3  flights  or  4  flights,   depending  on  the  number  of  individuals  signed  up  for  the  first  week  of  the  tournament.    Each  flight  will  consist  of  6  to   10  players.   The  higher  handicapped  player  of  the  two  opponents  will  take  the  stroke  difference  as  it  falls  on  the  marked  scorecard.     The  winner  of  the  match  proceeds  to  the  next  week.   st nd Points  are  given  in  each  flight  as  20  points  for  1  place  and  16  points  for  2  place.     No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  putts  points  will  be  awarded  to  any  players,  tournament  or  otherwise.    No  ringer  credit  will  be   given  to  tournament  players.    Points  are  awarded  to  everyone  for  birdies  and  chip-­‐ins.     FUN  TOURNAMENTS:   When  playing  in  a  threesome  is  required:   For  all  games  played  as  twosomes  (for  individual  and  for  team  scoring),  determine  which  two  of  the  three  players   comprises  the  team.    Then,  a  blind  draw  will  have  their  scores  combined  with  the  third  person  to  comprise  a  virtual  a   2-­‐person  team.    The  exception  to  this  is  for  a  2-­‐Person  Scramble.   For  games  scored  as  foursomes,  a  blind  draw  will  supply  the  fourth  score  to  comprise  a  virtual  4-­‐person  team.

handicap.   When  a  golfer  wins  a  hole,  they  "remove"  a  club  from  her  opponent’s  bag  and  places  it  in  her  own  bag.  That  means  the   th other  golfer  can't  use  that  club  for  the  rest  of  the  round.  This  continues  until  the  18  hole  is  completed.  However,  if  a   player  makes  a  net  birdie  or  better  to  win  a  hole,  then  one  of  their  lost  clubs  can  be  retrieved.     The  lower  net  score  wins  the  hole.    The  winners  of  each  match  will  receive  3  points.   No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  low  putts  points  will  be  given.    Mark  incomplete  holes  with  “X.”    Ringer  credit,  birdie  points,   and  chip-­‐in  points  given  on  completed  holes.     5  of  Clubs  –  Type  2   Play  as  twosomes.    Teams  will  be  created  at  random,  without  regard  to  handicap.   Each  player  comes  to  the  course  with  5  clubs  only  –  5  clubs  of  their  choice.    The  entire  round  is  played  with  only  these  5   clubs.     Participants  will  be  competing  for  weekly  points  as  usual.         Team  Scoring   Twosomes     2-­‐Person  Best  Ball  –  Type  1   Play  as  twosomes.    Handicap  strokes  are  marked  on  the  cards.    Each  team  has  two  players.  On  each  hole,  each  player   plays  their  own  golf  balls  off  the  tee  and  into  the  hole.  Then  take  the  lower  of  the  two  players’  score  for  the  hole,  and   that  is  the  team  score.     The  low  net  team  player(s)  win  5  points,  second  low  net  wins  3  points,  and  third  low  net  wins  1  point.       No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  low  putts  points  will  be  given.    Mark  incomplete  holes  with  “X.”    Ringer  credit,  birdie  points,   and  chip-­‐in  points  given  on  completed  holes.     2-­‐Person  Scramble  –  Type  2   Play  as  twosomes.    Handicap  strokes  are  marked  on  the  cards.    Each  team  has  two  players.  On  each  hole,  each  player   tees  off  with  their  own  golf  ball.    From  the  tee  shot  through  finishing  the  hole,  play  the  best  ball  available  and  record   that  score  for  the  team.   The  low  net  team  player(s)  win  5  points,  second  low  net  wins  3  points,  and  third  low  net  wins  1  point.       No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  low  putts  points  will  be  given.    In  addition,  no  ringer  credit  nor  additional  birdie  points  or   chip-­‐in  points  will  be  given.       Bingo  Bango  Bongo  –  Type  1   Three  types  of  achievements  are  rewarded  with  one  point  each.  The  first  player  in  a  group  to  get  her  ball  on  the  green   gets  a  point  (bingo).  The  player  in  the  group  whose  ball  is  closest  to  the  pin  once  all  balls  are  on  the  green  gets  a  point   (bango).  And  the  player  in  the  group  who  is  first  to  hole  out  gets  a  point  (bongo).   No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  low  putts  points  will  be  given.    In  addition,  no  ringer  credit  nor  additional  birdie  points  or   chip-­‐in  points  will  be  given.       Team  Scoring   Foursomes     Flag  Tournament  –  Type  1   Play  as  twosomes,  but  teams  will  be  formed  as  foursomes.    There  will  be  a  blind  draw  for  teams  made  up  as  a   threesome.    Handicap  strokes  for  the  foursomes  are  marked  on  each  of  two  cards.       After  the  rounds  are  over,         Count  1  low  net  ball  on  all  par  red  flags       Count  2  low  net  balls  on  all  par  white  flags       Count  3  low  net  balls  on  all  par  blue  flags   Low  net  team  players  win  5  points  each.    Second  low  net  team  players  win  3  points  each.    Third  place  low  net  team   players  win  1  point  each.    Ties  will  be  broken  with  highest  average  handicapped  card  being  the  winning  team.     No  low  gross,  low  net,  or  low  putts  points  will  be  given.    Mark  incomplete  holes  with  “X.”    Ringer  credit,  birdie  points,   and  chip-­‐in  points  given  on  completed  holes.     3-­‐2-­‐1  Tournament  –  Type  1   Play  as  twosomes,  but  teams  will  be  formed  as  foursomes.    There  will  be  a  blind  draw  for  teams  made  up  as  a   threesome.    Handicap  strokes  for  the  foursomes  are  marked  on  each  of  two  cards.     After  the  rounds  are  over,       Count  1  low  net  ball  on  all  par  5's       Count  2  low  net  balls  on  all  par  4's
