Apple Siri has new competitor: courtesy Google Siri is Apple’s much publicized and talked about, voice assistant for iPhones 4s. However, its popularity may be short lived with Google looking to launch its very own voice assistant for Android. In final stages of development; this Siri counterpart will in all likelihood, be christened ‘Google Assistant’. The ‘assistant’ is expected to go much beyond Siri and Google will retain complete control of every layer involved. In other words, it will be able to tap Google search engine’s knowledge base and integrate other services from the company such as Gmail, Google+ and YouTube. Furthermore, this multitasking ‘assistant’ is also expected to be opened to developers so that they can incorporate it into apps and websites developed for the Android. But will that be enough to upstage the Siri? Let’s wait and watch. http://www.firstpost.com/tech/google-planning-competitor-to-apples-siri-voice-assistant-233809.html
12. ASUS Eee pad Memo 370T = Google Nexus Tablet? The Google Nexus tablet has been fuelling the rumor mills for months now. If recent reports are to be believed, a slightly modified version of the ASUS Eee Pad Memo 370T will be launched as the Google experience tablet. Also, according to reports, Google was extremely impressed with the memo 370T and had approached ASUS to reduce bill of materials and get the price down to $199. Given that the memo was supposed to be available at $250; it shouldn’t be too difficult for Google to get the discount they’re looking for. Moreover, ASUS is maintaining its silence on the Memo 370T, leading to theories about the pad being shelved to transform into the Google experience tablet. For the answer to this and more, we’ll just have to hold our breath till the tab is launched. http://androidos.in/2012/03/is-asus-eee-pad-memo-370t-variant-the-alleged-google-nexus-tablet/
