The relationships that I have made over the years and the satisfaction of making people happy with their purchases. Everyday is a new adventure and an opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world.

What is your day like?
Every day is different, and thats why I love my job. I spend a lot of time communicating: face-to-face, on the phone, and in lots of meetings. In general, I plan, implement, maintain, and grow various aspects of the business while also reviewing budgets and operations, cultivating palliative medicine and hospice services, and developing new programs, such as CareLink (to bridge the territory between home health care and hospital care) and PACE (to provide seniors a daytime program with health care and social interaction). I also work closely with our CEO, Dave Clarke, on executing our overall strategic plan as we seek to diversify our business and expand its footprint.

His greatest contribution was teaching me that I could trust him without reservation, and gaining that freedom was critical to my professional growth. He modeled all of these life-enhancing concepts and talked often about how to handle particular situations. He actively taught me how to be a better leader and person.

Roseman

Whats left on the bucket list?

Professionally, its somewhat general: To continue to grow and learn. I would love to obtain my doctorate someday. Personally, its to travel more with my family. I really want to experience the world at a more intimate level and tap into what unites us and distinguishes us as people. At the moment, Spain, Italy, and the Caribbean hold a special appeal, but I wouldnt say no to any destination.

What motivates/inspires you?

Helping others. Thats what I do best. When I see the response or the thanks from our efforts to improve someones life, its such a powerful reward. My job lets me observe the difference that we can make with everything from small gestures to major projects, and thats a constant gift that pushes me to do even more. And of course, my husband and kids motivate me on a daily basis to be a better person. Their love is a strong driving force.

What advice would you give What do you look forward to when you to go work each day? women looking to get ahead?
I look forward to interacting with the staff, patients, families, and our community partners. I watch our staff on a daily basis, and they make me want to do better and be a better person. Theres so much compassion in each of them. Theyre what make us so different. The heart and commitment of our employees to patients and their families is like nothing Ive ever seen before. It energizes me every day.

To be honest, to work hard, and to know and really understand the concept and purpose of what youre doing. Thats a huge thing for me. If youre passionate and authentic, people will respond favorably. I would also recommend a constant quest for learning and a desire to understand people.

Tell us about a personal goal you achieved.

Finding the right professional calling. At one point, I was struggling to feel engaged with my work, to nd a mission and purpose that would motivate me. A life coach suggested I consider what energizes me and then speak to professionals involved in those elds. The exercise ultimately brought me to hospice, and things began to fall into place in completely unexpected ways. I think my willingness to be open to my own passions and interests helped change my life for the better. As I made the change, I found it very rewarding to run toward something that would nurture me and my talents long-term and allow me a life of service and commitment.

What is the best advice you received?

To be transparent and to nurture your integrity. A former boss mentored me, not only talking the talk but walking the walk. He advocated consistency, especially in decision-making, and he believed in teaching your employees what to expect from you according to the standards you set. He also taught me that you cant always tell people what they want to hear, but you can guarantee them an honest
