INSTEON® Motion Sensor Floodlight
Introduction
The new INSTEON Floodlights not only turn on their lights when motion is detected but can also turn on additional lights and/or notify you that someone is outside your home. The Motion Sensor Floodlight uses your reliable INSTEON network, so you can also remotely control your floodlights from anywhere. Preparation
Installation should be performed only by a qualified electrician or by a homeowner who is familiar and comfortable with electrical circuitry. If you have any questions regarding installation, we suggest consulting an electrician. Software such as HouseLincTM 2 can make management and setup of INSTEON devices much easier. If you have any questions regarding setup, contact Tech. Support at SmartLabs. For proper alignment, make sure the junction box has diagonal mounting.

Tools Needed
• • Pliers Phillips screwdriver

Installation
1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) If existing floodlight is controlled by a switch, turn the switch on At the circuit breaker or fuse panel, disable the circuit supplying power to the fixture Remove existing floodlight and pull it away from the fixture, exposing wires Disconnect wires from existing floodlight and ensure you have at least 1/2 in. of bare wire on the ends During wiring, ensure that all wires are routed through the included rubber gasket for maximum weather protection Black wires – Twist together the following 4 wires, then secure together with included yellow wire nut: black & red wires banded together on InLineLinc, black wire on Motion Sensor Floodlight and the line wire (usually black) in junction box White wires – Twist together the following 3 wires, then secure together with included yellow wire nut: white wire on In-LineLinc, white wire on Motion Sensor Floodlight and neutral wire (usually white) in junction box Using your pliers, squeeze the nylon connector joining the three red wires together on the Motion Sensor Floodlight and remove the red wire which comes out of the motion sensor head. Twist this red wire together with the yellow wire on In-LineLinc and secure with orange wire nut. Using your pliers, squeeze the nylon connector now holding the remaining two red wires on Motion Sensor Floodlight, and then remove them one at a time. Now twist these two red wires together with the remaining red wire on In-LineLinc and secure with yellow wire nut. Ground wires – Twist together the following 2 wires, then secure together with included orange or yellow wire nut: copper wire on In-LineLinc and ground wire (usually green or copper) in junction box Enable power to the fixture from the circuit breaker or fuse panel With bulbs installed, test that unit is functioning properly by triggering motion Before mounting In-LineLinc and Motion Sensor Floodlight into junction box, either link your In-LineLinc to other INSTEON devices (see “Controlling…” sections on right) or write down your In-LineLinc’s INSTEON ID (i.e. XX.XX.XX) for remote software management Consult Motion Sensor Floodlight’s Owner’s Manual for details on mounting and setup however, keep in mind In-LineLinc will be installed into the junction box behind your Motion Sensor Floodlight
