Setting Up A Google Site Using my NHSD Google Account 1. Go to www.google.com 2. If you not logged in to your account, please do so.

Keep in mind that you must put in @students.nhsd.net after your log-in name.

3. On the top of your display screen, click Sites.

4. No sites should appear yet. Click the Create button.

5. Name your site: Tommys (insert your name) Social Studies Site

6. Site location: type in your name without spaces

7. Click select a theme and pick a theme that you would like to use

8. Click the Create button. 9. Look at the top right of the screen. The pencil icon button will allow you to edit pages, the plus sign with page allows you to add a page and the share icon will allow you to publish your page.

10. Click on the pencil icon. Type a welcome note for anyone who may view this site (parents/teacher/administrator). Example: Welcome to my Social Studies 8 Site. Here, you can find a lot of what I have produced in my Social Studies 8 class this year! I have learned a lot of

early American History in this class!

11. Click the Save button to save your edits. 12. Click the New Page icon. a. Name this page My Colony Advertisement b. Dont change any other settings and click Create.

13. Click the Save button icon when it loads. 14. Create a few more new pages, naming them as follows: a. My French and Indian War Animation b. My Britain Break Up Song c. My Election of 1800 Campaign Ad 15. Your sidebar will look something like this:

16. Go back to your Colony Advertisement page. 17. Click on the Edit button.

18. Click within the screen. Click Insert > Presentation

19. Find your presentation and select it. Click to insert it. Click Save. Click the Save Again. It should now be on your screen. Note: if you did not complete this assignment or post it properly on GoogleDocs, it will not be there. You are responsible for posting a sentence explaining that you did not complete this assignment. Example: The project you are looking for can not be found on my page because I did not complete the assignment.

20. Next, click on My French and Indian War Animation on the sidebar. 21. Open a NEW TAB (CMD + T) 22. Go to www.youtube.com and search mrwelchprojects or Dkampprojects

23. A List of each students work should load. Search for your name to find your animation and load your video.

24. Below your video is a share button. Click that and copy the link to your video (cmd + C)

25. Go back to the tab with your website. Click the edit icon. 26. Click Insert > Video > You Tube Video 27. Paste the link to the video (Edit Paste OR CMD + V)

28. Click Save. 29. Click Save again. Your video will now appear on your site. Note: if you did not complete this assignment or post it properly on YouTube, it will not be there. You are responsible for

posting a sentence explaining that you did not complete this assignment.

30. Go to your Britain Break Up Song and Election of 1800 Page and load the videos there, too. If you did not complete a certain assignment, please write a sentence explaining that you did not complete the assignment. 31. When you are done with all of your pages, click the blue Share icon.

32. Change Visibility Options to Anyone With the Link.

33. Click Save. 34. Copy the link (cmd + C) and paste it where your teacher has direct you to do so.
