The Truth the Book of Second Timothy The Book of Second Timothy lays out who inspires the

teachings and the words of the Holy Bible. It also, teaches Christians to beware of false teachers who teach the Word of God falsely. The Book of Second Timothy was recorded by the Apostle Paul shortly before he was executed for his faith in Jesus Christ. This book was written sometime in the mid-60s AD by the Apostle Paul to Timothy his son begotten in the faith of Jesus Christ. In the Book of Second Timothy, the Word of God makes it explicitly clear to all who read and listen to the teachings of the Holy Bible. Found in 2 Timothy 3:16, the Word of God makes it known by whom the Holy Scriptures are inspired by and in 2 Timothy 3:17, we learn the results of learning and following the teachings of the Word of God in our daily fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh. 2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2 Timothy 3:17 "That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." In the letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul encourages to prepare Timothy the price that he and all believers in the faith of Jesus Christ and sharing the Gospel would face out in the world. Here is a brief glimpse into the encouraging message that the Apostle Paul shares with Timothy then and to us now. 2 Timothy 1:7-14
7"

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

and love. we put our faith (trust) in God through God's only begotten Son Jesus Christ to know what the real truth is. and an apostle. but of power to face down and overcome the tribulations that we face daily as we live for Christ and not of the world. John 1:1-5 1 "In the beginning was the Word. . which thou hast heard of me.11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher." In this portion (see up above) of the Apostle Paul's letter to Timothy. and the Word was with God. 13 Hold fast the form of sound words. and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. and without him was not any thing made that was made. and of a sound mind. next Paul prepares Timothy that he will face afflictions that will come upon him for his steadfastness of the Gospel and his life will not be made easy in this present world of darkness. This is important because all born-again believers who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ have been given gifts of the Holy Spirit. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. for instruction in righteousness" just as God has promised us. which is not one of fear. 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed. and the life was the light of men. and the Word was God. In him was life. but of power. We know that we can totally trust (put our faith in) the Word of God "for doctrine." 3 4 5 That light that the world of men could not comprehend is the Word of God (Jesus Christ) and this same light that the world cannot comprehend is the same light ('Truth' is what is represented by the term 'Light') that all born-again Christians have come to know by the help of the Holy Spirit of God. Instead of us trusting in our own selves to know what truth is. and a teacher of the Gentiles. All things were made by him. in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. for reproof. for correction. because the darkness comprehended not. and the darkness comprehended it not. Once Paul has encouraged Timothy of the power which God has given to them. 14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. because God is Truth and there isn't any darkness at all in Him and God cannot lie. And the light shineth in darkness. Paul first starts of encouraging Timothy by reminding him that God has not given us (born-again believers) a spirit of fear.

2 Timothy 1:10 10 "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ. that your joy may be full. and do not the truth:" Titus 1:2 2" In hope of eternal life. Paul warns that this present world will wax worse and worse in the last days and he follows this up giving examples of the lusts of people who have denied the truth but rather are still living in the darkness of this present world. and the life: no man cometh unto the Father. the truth. 12 that he can have confidence in GOD to keep his word and to not be ashamed ever for believing in the Truth which is in Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ we have eternal life.John 14:6 6 "Jesus saith unto him. I am the way. to be aware of the things to come just before the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. who hath abolished death. Paul warns Timothy then and us now. and walk in darkness. we lie. but by me. for such turn away from. and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:" 2 Timothy 1:12 12 " For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him. that God is light. . which God. and in him is no darkness at all. promised before the world began. and then prepares Timothy of the afflictions that he will endure living by the Gospel and sharing his faith in the Gospel with those that live in darkness of this present world." After the Apostle Paul encourages. the Apostle Paul goes on to re-assure Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:10. So." 1 John 1:4-6 4 "And these things write we unto you. and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." In other chapters in the Book of 2 Timothy the Apostle Paul gives a stern warning to Timothy to beware of false teachers whom having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof (these deny the truth). that cannot lie. and declare unto you.
