This Lenten Day of Reflection, sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of Consecrated Life, is offered for all in the consecrated life Religious Sisters, Brothers & Priests; Members of Secular Institutes and Consecrated Virgins.

Fr. Basil Cole, O.P. Fr. Basil Cole is from San Francisco, CA and a member of St. Josephs Province. He was solemnly professed in 1964 and ordained to the priesthood in 1966 in Oakland, CA. He received his license and lectorate degree in France and his doctorate in Sacred Theology at the Angelicum in Rome. He has been assigned as Prior at St. Dominics Priory in San Francisco; at Daniel Murphy High School in Los Angeles, and Subprior for 6 years at the Dominican House of Studies from 2002-2008. He is currently Prior of St. Gertrudes Priory in Cincinnati, OH where the novitiate of the Province of St. Joseph resides. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at Mt. St. Marys Seminary for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Father has been an invited professor in Theology at the University of St. Thomas in Urbe, Rome; in Bio-Ethics at Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, MI and in Theology for the permanent diaconate program of the Archdiocese of Washington. He was a Professor at St Charles Seminary during summer sessions and currently is a Professor at the Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC. Father has published books on the consecrated life; the priesthood and his latest book A Sense of Humor and Virtue: A Thomistic Theological Perspective was published in 2011.

Sr. Elinor Gardner, O.P. Sister Elinor Gardner is a member of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, Nashville, TN. Sister received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Anselm College in 1999 graduating summa cum laude. She received her teaching license for pre-K8th grade in 2007. Sister earned her doctorate in Philosophy from Boston College in 2009. Sister specializes in the areas of ethics and the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas. She has presented on topics such as Conscience, Custom and Nature & Rights. Sister has taught at Boston College, Aquinas College and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University of America, where she is also a faculty advisor to the Womens Discernment Group.
