State of the Lodge
I hope this inaugural issue of the Beta Delta Alumni Newsletter finds you all well. It is my hope that you will use this new tool as a way to stay connected with each other and with what is happening at the Lodge. Brothers, these are exciting times to be a Brother of Chi Psi Fraternity, and I am very impressed with what we have done so far this year in terms of community outreach and philanthropic service. Undergraduate Brothers are working hard to improve our accreditation standing at Lehigh and prove that we are truly Chi Psi Gentlemen. As a Brotherhood we are becoming more involved than in recent years and we are in the process of bringing Chi Psi back to the Golden Times. Undergraduate Spotlight: Ryan Spadola

Brother Ryan Spadola 13 has continuously been one of the most active and dedicated brothers throughout his time here in Chi Psi. Originally from Palm Desert, California, Ryan relocated to New Jersey where he excelled in academics and football. At Lehigh, Ryan is majoring in Supply Chain Management. He has served as Recruitment Chair, Vice-President and is currently serving as our Alumni Relations officer. Brother Spadola received a leave of absence for his final spring semester at Lehigh to pursue a professional career in football. He will be training in Florida with some of the top NFL players such as Brandon Marshall and Antonio Brown. He has also received an invitation to play in the Texas Vs the Nation All Star game on February 2, 2013 at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas. The game will be broadcast by Fox Sports. In addition, Brother Spadola has received an invite to the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The combine will take place from February 20, 2013 February 26, 2013. We are very proud of our Brothers and we hope you all tune in to support Brother Spadola.

New Member Education Undergraduate News/ Upcoming Events February 2013 March 2013: New Member Education. February 16: Scholarship Awards dinner and Cocktail 3:30 PM-6:00 PM. February 23: Northeast Regional Conference at Union College Alpha Pi.
Brother Ryan Spadola 13

Bids have been given out and New Member Education will begin on February 4, 2013 and end on March 22, 2013. Lehigh has asked that New Member Education only last 6 weeks instead of the usual 8 week education period. We have made the necessary adjustments and are excited for a great New Member Education th Period. Initiation will be the week of March 18 22th. This years New Member Educator will be Legacy, Brother Eric Walsh Simpler 13. Mid-Year Leadership Conference

This years Mid-Year Leadership Conference (MYLR) was held in Nashville, TN from January 3-6. It was the third year for the MYLR and it once again proved to be an excellent opportunity for 35 undergraduate brothers form Alphas across the nation. Our #1, Keith Sherman attended the MYLR and it gave him an opportunity to share ideas and learn Alpha management skills. Program for Excellence
The Program for Excellence served as the cornerstone of this years Mid-Year Leadership Retreat (MYLR). The Program for Excellence is a program that presents new ideas on how to improve sorority relations and improving what it means to be Chi Psi Gentlemen. It features ideas such as speed dating, pig picking, golf outing events etc. At the MYLR undergraduate Brothers received a draft version of the Program for Excellence and an online version is available at: www.chipsi.org/programforexcellence.

Accreditation
The accreditation process this year is much further than in recent years. Brother Marcus Dormevil and Brother Jared Heschke are heading a committee of six Brothers. We are very excited for the accreditation process this year and believe we are able to secure the highest possible rating. Our accreditation hearing will be held in April 2013. As soon as our date is finalized we will notify everyone involved with Beta Delta.

Scholarship
We will be hosting the first annual Scholarship award cocktail at the Lodge on February 16, 2013 from 3:30 PM- 6PM. Brothers will be awarded monetary prizes for Overall Highest GPA, Most improved GPA, Highest GPA in each college and Most improved GPA in each college. This is made possible by the P&E account at Lehigh. The P&E account can be accessed at mylehigh.lehigh.edu/fraternity. We encourage alumni to continue to donate to the P&E account so we are able to have more events like this and future Brothers can experience what it truly means to be a Chi Psi Gentleman.
