Department: Community Life, Plumley Village Reporting to: Youth Engagement Manager Primary Function: This is a 40 hour per week, full time position. The Youth Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of youth/teen programs and activities after school and evenings and during the day during the summer months. Primary Responsibilities Include: • Develop positive, supportive, and trusting relationships in the Plumley Village community. • Engage Plumley Village youth for participation in after school and summer activities. • Work with the TCB Ways and Means Youth team on program development and implementation strategies. • Implement and facilitate youth programming and other opportunities available to youth • Work closely with programs and agencies in Worcester to provide programs on site to expand program capacity. • Assist teens with the establishment of a teen forum whereby teens participate in the development and implementation of the program. • Identify training opportunities in Worcester for teens. • Work with parents and local schools as part of program. • Document all teen program activities. • Support fundraising events. • Additional duties as needed. Qualifications: Knowledge & Skills Required: The successful candidate will have: • High school diploma or equivalent. • At least two years experience working with youth. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site team members and members of other organizations. • Communications and conflict resolution skills. • Upbeat attitude and ability to inspire others. • Cultural competency and responsiveness. • Basic computer skills.
