QUANTUM QUIZ SHOW MECHANICS

1. The competition is open to all high school students. Each school/college may have at most two (2) representatives in the Quantum Quiz Show. Each entry is composed of one (1) bona fide high school student. Coverage It covers questions concerning: HIGH SCHOOL History of Computing Basic Computer Programming Current Events in Computing IT Essentials (Hardware and Software) Internet and related Technologies

2. Each participant will be assigned to a desktop computer installed with the automated quiz show program. Questions will be displayed in their respective monitors. For the benefit of the audience, the questions will be projected in a wide screen. The automated tabulation will also be shown in another wide screen which will also display the leading contestants so as the timer for every question. 3. The questions will be read by the quiz master twice. The quiz master will then say GO as a signal for the participants to choose their answer and click the SUBMIT button, before the end of the time limit. When the time is up, whether the students have chosen an answer or not, all answers will be locked and will automatically be tallied and be displayed on the score board. After each round, the partial results will be announced. 4. The contest is divided into three (3) rounds: Easy, Average and Difficult. There are ten (10) easy questions, ten (10) average questions and five (5) difficult questions. Each question for the Easy Round is worth one (1) point and must be answered within ten (10) seconds. Each question for the Average Round is worth two (2) points and must also be answered within ten (10) seconds. 5. The top five (5) teams that accumulate the most number of points after the Average Round shall proceed to the Difficult Round. In case of a tie, three (3) tie-breaker questions shall be asked where each question is worth two (2) points. However, if there will still be a tie, a sudden death question shall be asked and the team that first answers the question correctly shall continue playing in the Difficult Round. 6. In the Difficult Round, all scores will be set back to zero. Each question in this round is worth five (5) points and must be answered within fifteen (15) seconds. 7. The top three (3) teams that accumulate the most number of points after five (5) difficult questions shall be declared as the Champion, the First Runner-up, and the Second Runnerup respectively. In case of a tie, a Clincher Round will be given only for the schools involved. The Clincher Round consists of five (5) questions where each question must be answered within fifteen (15) seconds and is worth five (5) points. However, if there will still be a tie, a

sudden death question shall be asked and the team that first answers the question correctly shall be considered as the winner. 8. Any team caught in any act of cheating or any form of dishonesty will automatically be disqualified. 9. The Quiz Bee organizers reserve the right to ban any participant or member of the audience who they believe is detrimental to the orderly conduct of the competition. 10. Objections and verifications of the answers must be raised to the judges before the quiz master asks the next question. After this, such objection will be considered void. 11. Judges decisions are final and irrevocable. 12. Winners shall be announced and awarded immediately after the competition.
