COLLEGE OF NURSING School Health Nursing Learning Feedback Diary

PASCUAL, MA. JESSICA MAE P.

February 11, 2013 I was often feeling eager of doing our duty. There has never been a point in time that I was uninterested in doing this thing. Though we often get exhausted with the everyday work and activities in the school, it was a fun learning experience. Teaching in a school setting seems very easy at first, you just make some conversation there and they would pay attention but it is not really the case. Our topic was Herbal Medicines and Prohibited Drugs Teaching is not really my thing because I get irritated easily when I am in a noisy environment but there is always an exemption. As the time goes by I enjoyed teaching because the students were very attentive and interested to what I am saying. It feels so good to be a TEACHER and most especially when you bring out the best for your students when they learn the most effective way. Its not about the salary; its the way how you make your students change and sharing your knowledge, being a role model not only in the room, but in the whole campus. It inspires every teacher when they saw their students smile, participate, and most importantly they know how to deal with God. February 12, 2013 The second day was almost the same as the other day, same section, same students, same time and place. Students were very excited to see us teaching in front of them. It feels great as we stood in front of our students and manage to conduct our lectures, although we dont have enough time to finish all the concepts, we deliver it the way they would learned and understand every part of it. We first taught about Prohibited Drugs because it is easier to digest than the herbal medicines. Its so nice because you can see them participating. They even raise their hands just to answer some questions. Overall, I must be well-adjusted and have the psychological maturity to deal with anything I required to face. It moulds my knowledge, skill and attitude as a teacher. I gained much more self-confidence. I already told for my part that prior to departing in area that being a teacher isnt an easy line of work. It will really challenge you to work together with the students. Being a professor is being able to stand up for what you believe in. It means you help to make new ideas; you don't just follow the old one.

February 13, 2013 This is the last day of our meeting, our last day of being a heath teacher for the senior year high school students. I would like to come to an end everything within an hour and that also includes our farewell. Weve done and do our best to complete the remaining lectures and give tokens to each student who participated well in our class discussion. We discussed about herbal medicines. Its very fulfilling for my part because we were able to give some knowledge to our students. They were very participative in the class, we all had fun. It all starts with a responsibility. It also improved my nursing skills and improved my leadership skills at the same time. I imagined myself as the captain of a ship; the fate of the ship is essentially in my hands, and it's up to me to steer everyone in the right direction. There has never been a point in time that I was uninterested in doing this thing. Though we often get exhausted with the everyday work and activities in the school, it was a fun learning experience for me.
