TRUST In God We Trust marks the currency of our nation. It should mark our lives as well. In fact, however, we hesitate to trust others, including God, absolutely. We prefer to hold our trust in reserve, fearful of being hurt or betrayed. Todays readings remind us that Lent is a season of trusta trust that transforms. God makes a remarkable promise to Abraham. To receive this promise, all Abraham need do is trust. Paul tells the Philippians that they too must trust that they are the beneficiaries of Gods bountiful grace; that they are not citizens of any earthly kingdom, but citizens of heaven. These two readings invite us to hear the Gospel account of deep trusttrust that God will fulfill all promises and that Jesus passage will lead to transformation and new life. Copyright J. S. TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION By now, many may have failed in Lenten discipline to some measure or another: the daily doughnut is simply too alluring, or a furtive puff on a cigarette irresistible. There is meaning even in the 5 cups sifted all-purpose unbleached flour failure, though, a kind of reminder that we cannot cup sugar save ourselves. Part of the power of Lent is that we 2 teaspoons baking powder do it together, and although individuals decide on 1 teaspoon salt different ways to keep it, it is fundamentally the 1 teaspoon baking soda same journey. We fall, we get up, we keep moving. pound (1stick) butter The desire to give something up for Lent is an 2 cups mixed light and dark raisins, soaked in water age-old impulse in the Christian heart. We get better for 15 to 20 minutes and drained at it over the years, and move more deeply into the 3 tablespoons caraway seeds meaning and message of acts of sacrifice; so there is 2 cups buttermilk no shame in stumbling, as long as we are not dis1 large egg, slightly beaten couraged by the failure and give up. We are clearing Directions space in our lives, after all, and some of the things Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Generously butter 2 (9 by 5-inch) bread pans. Stir together the sifted flour, sugar, we desire to give up are worth rooting out combaking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in the butter and pletely anyway. What do we do with the space we mix very thoroughly with your hands until it gets grainy. Stir have cleared out by our sacrifice? The Lenten quesin raisins and caraway seeds. Add the buttermilk and egg to tion of giving up is balanced by the Easter question of our response to Christs embrace of us in love: the flour mixture. Stir until well moistened. Shape dough What are you taking on for Easter? into 2 loaves and place in the pans.

Naboestwa Wielkopostne:
Droga Krzyowa w pitki o godzinie 6:30 wieczorem Gorzkie ale w niedziele o godzinie 4:30 po poudniu poczone ze Msz wit.
CIAO CHWALEBNE Podczas czytania dzisiejszej Ewangelii przypomniaa mi si anegdota z ycia pewnego wzitego kaznodziei. Ot na niedzielnej Mszy w., na ktrej odczytano Ewangeli o Przemienieniu Paskim, wygosi on najkrtsze w swym yciu kazanie. A mimo to, wywar spore wraenie na swych suchaczach i sprawi, e wielu wzio sobie do serca jego sowa. Kazanie to atwo przytoczy, bo zawierao si w trzech nastpujcych po sobie sowach: Przemieniajmy si, przemieniajmy si, przemieniajmy si!. Rzeczywicie, podejmujc trud wielkopostnego nawrcenia, przez post, modlitw i jamun, mamy nadziej, e doprowadzi on do naszego przemienienia. Zwykle mylimy tutaj o przemianie naszego postpowania z gorszego na lepsze. A jednak Boa obietnica siga dalej. aska Chrystusa, ktra daje nam si do nawrcenia i zmiany swego postpowania, sprawi rwnie i to, e kiedy nasze marne, ziemskie ciaa zostan przemienione na wzr chwalebnego ciaa naszego Zbawiciela. T tajemnic objawia nam w. Pawe w czytanym dzi fragmencie listu do Filipian. Marek Cul dominikanin
