Good Morning, Today is Monday, February 25 and Day 6 of the 10 Day Cycle.

 This week is Brooklyn Technical High School’s 2nd Annual Engineers Week! This event is geared to spark interest in engineering, as well as develop engineering skills through activities during the week. From competitions like the Egg Drop, which engages students in building devices to keep a falling egg from breaking, to the Cardboard Boat Regatta, which invites teams of students to build the sturdiest and quickest canoe out of cardboard and duct tape, it is bound to captivate everyone’s eye for engineering. We invite all students to participate and to look out for the prizes that will be given away at the events. See you there!

Attention Juniors! Tuesday, February 26 from 5:30-8:00 is Junior College Information Night. Come find out all you need to know about the college application process including which colleges you should consider, tips on writing the essay, and financial aid issues. From 5:30-6:00 questions about the NCAA Clearinghouse will be answered for athletes who want to continue playing sports in college. Chinese translation will be available. Attention all student artists: The Chinatown YMCA is embarking on a partnership with the New Museum and University Settlement to create a mural on the wall outside of the Y, located on 273 Bowery, NY, NY 10002. This is a rare chance for student artists and designers to have their work displayed in a large-scale, public arena just like the innovative street art that New York City is known for worldwide. This project is sure to be an incredible experience and could be something that a teen could use in his/her portfolio when applying to college. If you are between the ages of 15-18 and are interested in this opportunity, please see Ms. Tuckman, Mr. Williams, or Ms. Marquez for more information.
