Grade 4 Unit 5 Dusty Farm (73)

My granny lives on a small farm near Johannesburg in South Africa. She keeps partridges on her dusty farm. I went to visit her last summer. I asked her why her farm did not have so many animals. She sighed and said, “I can’t afford to feed them Sara.” We gazed sadly across the grasslands together. The midday sun was bright. I could see the bodies of two dead sheep under a tree.
