Lesson Steps
c.

## Grade Math Box 1.12 on page 25 of the Student Workbook. (5 minutes)

i. Look at 2, 4, and 5.

d.

## Have students complete the Math Message. (10 minutes)

i. Have a volunteer share their answer for each question.

e.

## Have the students look at numbers 5 and 6. Do it with them. (5 minutes)

i. Complete number 7 together.

f.

## Smart board activity (20 minutes)

i. One student (using the cup of fun) comes to the smart board and

## completes the pattern activity.

ii. Students upload the Edmodo activity on to their iPads. 1. Students can manipulate numbers in colored text boxes to create as

many patterns as possible. They need to write the rule they used to create their pattern.
iii. They take the remainder of this time to complete them. g.

## Review answers with the whole class. (5 minutes)

i. Have students come up to the front and share their findings (using their

iPads).
ii. They can connect their iPads to the SMART Board.
