The focus of the Ontario Early Years Centres is to help all parents/caregivers give their young children the best possible start in life. All services offered by the Early Years Centre are provided free-of-charge. 0 to 6 years Making a Difference
The first six years are the most important years in your childs life. In the early years, the brain forms connections that set the stage for lifelong learning, behavior and health. By age six, children have a solid foundation for reaching their full potential in the years ahead.

Babies in Playland (Birth to Walkers) This program focuses on babies early development. It provides parents and caregivers learning opportunities on infant development through social and interactive play. Family Time (Birth to 6 years)
Family Time is for parents, caregivers, and their children to meet others and play interactively in an early learning environment. The program includes arts and crafts, music, pre-

reading and math concepts.

Learning on the Move (2 - 6yrs) A fun and interactive program exploring all areas of child development Me and Dad (Birth to 6 years) This program is for dads, uncles and grandpas to have a special fun time with their children. The program includes arts and crafts, music and movement, as well as, science and discovery. Singable Stories (Birth to 18 months)
This program focuses on a variety of story telling methods, story songs, story telling with props, reading from a book. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to try these different methods at home and pass on the joy of reading to their children

Songs & Stories in Mandarin / Farsi (Birth to 6 years) Familiarize and increase your childs level of interest in the cultures and languages offered, by means of songs and stories. Tot Stop (Walkers to 30 months) This program focuses on toddlers development through play. Parents and caregivers engage in activities with their children including, arts and
crafts, sensory activities, songs and rhymes.

The program includes arts and crafts, music, pre-reading and math concepts. Tot Stop (Walkers to 30 months) This program focuses on toddlers development through play. Parents and caregivers engage in activities with their children including, arts and crafts, sensory activities, songs and rhymes. Creative Movement (18 months to 6 years) This program fosters development in listening skills, auditory awareness, speech and language development and involves both large and fine motor skills.

Program Descriptions
Infant Action (for the parents and their infants, 3 months to 12 months) Maximum Capacity: 15 children
This program focuses on developing your infants large motor skill. A variety of equipment, action songs and rhymes are used to promote this development.

Sing & Sign (birth 12 months) Maximum Capacity: 15children


This program is an introduction to American Sign Language for Hearing infants and toddlers. The sessions use songs and games as a tool, to include signing in everyday routines. It is an opportunity to bond with your baby and reduce frustration for your baby and you.

The Parent - Child Mother Goose Program (birth 12 months) Maximum Capacity: 15 children
A group experience for parents and their babies focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs, and stories together.

Handwriting Without Tears (3 6 years / for children entering Kindergarten in September 2013) Maximum Capacity: 12 children
This program is a multi-sensory teaching method that uses hands-on manipulative components. Children will be introduced to uppercase letters and writing through the use of songs, play dough, wooden pieces, and writing mediums such as chalk.

Make and Take (18 months 6 years) Maximum Capacity: 10 adults. Limited Child minding
Make and Take is a program for parents and caregivers to make fun and engaging activities that help promote early learning skills. Each session will focus on a different area of development.

Public Health Workshop: Growth & Development (Parent Education for parents of children under 12 months)
Learn more about what to expect in your baby's first year and what you can do to help your baby grow and develop.

Triple P: Preschool Disobedience (for parents of children 2 - 6 years) Triple P: Todder Disobedience (for parents of children 18 months 2 years)
Learn about: common reasons why children dont do as they are told, setting clear limits and rules for children, helping children to get along with others. Child minding is not available.

Workshop:The Importance of Breakfast - Positive Child Development Maximum Capacity: 15 adults. No Child minding A workshop presented by Anna Estrah and Paul Lombardi, Seneca College students. Whats a Healthy Breakfast? Positive effects on a childs overall development and healthy breakfast recipes.
