Founded in 1996, Adam Beyerʼs Drumcode has become synonymous with all that is exciting about techno. Having completed a landmark year in 2011 with the labels 15 Year anniversary celebrations that included a 12-date club tour and a 28-track various artist compilation, Drumcode gets back to the future in 2012 with a busy schedule of releases. Followers of the label will recognize lost of familiar names within the schedule with projects confirmed from Adam Beyer & Joseph Capriati, Ben Sims, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kaiserdisco, Slam, Jay Lumen & Gary Beck, Sam Paganini and Nicole Moudaber. Having notched up 15 years of service within techno, most followers of the scene would say they know what to expect from Drumcode. No-nonsense, dancefloor orientated techno that has managed to steer a path through the maze of genre hopping trends that to create a sound of their own. This admirable and much lauded feat would of course not been possible without the musical vision of Adam Beyer and the creative energy of the artists whose music has defined the label. This latest release from Nicole Moudaber & Victor Calderone exemplifies this dual process perfectly with Beyer putting his faith in, what will be to many observers, an eyebrow-raising collaboration for a Drumcode release and being repaid warmly with two genuinely standout tracks of epic proportions. Their shared passion for the sultry, tough sounds that have come to define the New York scene has created a strong musical understanding.
